1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:

Great cars never go out of fashion, nd if the collector car hobby is still alive and well 100 years from now, hoebox Chevys will undoubtedly still be highly desirable cars. That's particularly true about this gorgeous 1956 Chevy 210 post coupe with its fantastic turquoise and white paint scheme that puts a slightly updated spin on the classic shape. The cowl tag suggests that this car was originally India Ivory over Sherwood Green, nd that's not too far off from what it shows today. However, f you look closely, ou'll see that there's a bit of pearl in the finish, hich gives the paint a sweet luster and a cool color-changing effect that's been a favorite of customizers dating back decades. The turquoise finish has a great '50s look that only works on cars of just the right vintage like this Chevy, o while it's pretty modern under the skin, t will bring a smile to people who love early rock-n-roll, oodle skirts, nd tail fins. Gaps are pretty danged good for a car at this price and the trim makes it critical to get everything lined up just right, nd while the paint is older and not perfect, t was applied over some good sheetmetal so any blemishes are a result of time, ot corrosion. Restoring the chrome on any '50s car can be a daunting task as well, hich is probably why so much of it disappears from some customs. But in the case of this coupe, t's all there and everything has been restored. The bumpers are original 3-piece units with bumperettes, nd all the stainless spent its summer vacation under a buffing wheel. The effect is a super clean car that is just different enough to stand out in a crowd.Like all the great customs we feature here at Streetside Classics, his one merely puts a slight twist on the original, lending old and new almost invisibly to create something unique. The seats, or example, re original but covered in white and turquoise vinyl that has a period-perfect look, specially with pleated seating surfaces. Matching dark green carpets add continuity, hile the body-colored dash injects some color to the '50s flavored interior. The original gauges remain, ut upgrades include an AM/FM/cassette stereo system and the original wheel and steering column have been restored to match the new color scheme. The headliner is in great condition with contrasting piping so it has a custom look that doesn't go over the top and the back seat is still spacious enough for all your friends to come with you. The trunk is finished with an original-style rubber mat and a full-sized spare tire. Power comes from a great-running 350 topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold, nd exhaling through a set of brand new shorty headers. More function than flash, here are still some highlights including the billet air cleaner and valve covers and chrome accessory brackets. This one will never lose its cool, ither, hanks to a big radiator up front and a modern dual master cylinder and brake booster power a set of front disc brakes. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic that makes for sharp acceleration and relaxed highway cruising with the 10-bolt rear end. A recent dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers sounds racy and it rides on polished Weld Drag Stars and 235/70/15 blackwall radials all around. You've admired cars like this at shows for years now, nd this is one that you'll be proud to be seen in. Better yet, ake it on the road and impress yourself. Call today!
