1960 Chevrolet Corvette Stock Additional Info:
This is a 1960 Corvette which looks original (except for the polished aluminum wheels), but does not drive like the original Corvettes. The original ones had a huge steering wheel which prevented all but smaller people from driving them (with any comfort). This one has a steering wheel which looks like the original, but is about 15 inches in diameter. With the larger tires, this made the car very hard to steer. So I added power steering. The original brakes (drum) were really not sufficient to stop the car, so I added power disc brakes on the front. The suspension was ok, but not great. So I added new independent front suspension with coil-over shocks. The car drives like a dream now. Other ammenities include professionally built 383 stroker engine (built by Adger Smith) and Muncie 4-speed transmission. All original gauges were professionally restored. It was a complete frame-off restoration. Interior perfectly matches exterior paint. All new upholstery, done by Auto Trim in Texarkana. Car has two Carter 4 bbls. Engine has lots of Billet Specialties goodies. Radiator is Griffin aluminum. All chrome/stainless was either purchased new or restored. Has 15" Mehelich wheels. Although car has won several trophies, I believe in driving them. I am 70 now, and I don't drive it enough. I will probably regret selling, but it is something I have to do.
