Found on a farmstead in Eastern Montana. Former owner has passed away. I will tell you what I know and what I don't know:
Truck Body
Doors open and close well with no sag. Windows roll up and down. All door latches and window rollers are tight.
Floors are solid.
Inner fenders are very good with very little rust.
Small hole in roof 1/2" wide x 3" long - allowed rain water to leak into roof causing rust hole on top of windshield, rust at corners at bottom of windshield, &bubbling at visor area on passenger side. Bottom of driver's side door has rust holes, bottom of passenger door has surface rust. Headlights work and some of the gauges work. Blinker system is broke off.
Motor & Drive Train
Truck sat for 20+ years. I cleaned out inner fuel tank and put in new electric fuel pump. Motor runs and sounds good.Temp gauge goes up to normal and stays there. There is no smoke and no engine leaks. I don't know what size 6 cylinder it is. I put in new master cylinder and slave cylinder to get truck running and driving. Drive shaft just spins going into rear differential - not sure what is wrong. PTO shifts in & out to make winch work. Transmission grinds a little going into gear - not sure if because of adjustment. Brownie transmission shifts into 3 spots on one side with middle being neutral.Other side of linkage I didn't shift, so not sure if this is a 3 or 4 speed Brownie. Number on Brownie is 5531A.Rear tires are good, front tires are weather checked.
I wasn't looking for this truck, but it looked like it needed saving. My goal was to get it running and driving but I have too many things going on to spend any more time on it. I do think this truck has possibilities with the Brownie transmission and winch and also has nice patina.I have the original title. Unfortunately I am not able toprovide information oncondition of the transmissions, clutch, rear end, and brakes. If you have any other questions, call (701)-376-3522.
