My initial thought was to list this as a barn find. But the story is better and the history is documented, o maybe I should name it a SUPER BARN FIND.
This is a one family driven classic. Bought new in October 18, 967, t was later sold to the original owner’s son on November 11, 977. The car was built in Wilmington, E and spent most of it’s life in Goldston, orth Carolina. The car was then stored in the family barn in 1984 until approximately 2012. At that point, ne of the brothers brought it up to Peekskill, Y. From there it changed hands 3 times but never repaired or driven until my ownership. This is all documented and verifiable. Copies include bill of sale, MV registration, anufacturer’s Statement of Origin to a Motor Vehicle.
This is all original 1968 sports coupe (fastback). The original 327 engine has been totally rebuilt by a legitimate top notch machine shop in Clifton Park, Y, nd I had it bored out and we added a mild cam. New parts are throughout the engine bay and suspension. New power disk brakes, ew dual exhaust. It still has the original 3 speed transmission(Shifts smoothly) and a 12 bolt rear. All work done at a top rated Albany, Y shop. All receipts included. The frame is straight as an arrow, he underbody is super shape. I left it alone so the buyer can see it’s original condition. We even kept the chalk marking code from the factory assembly line that was written on the firewall(see picture).
Inside you have a new Dakota digital dash and steering wheel, ew carpeting with sound deadening and rubber waterproofing on the perfect original floor pans. Original dash and steering wheel are included.
The original odometer reads 24,485.4. With the engine being totally rebuilt, e have less than 50 miles on the rebuild.
The patina on the car is mostly tobacco stain. I have tested a few spots with polishing compound and it comes out with a little work. I’m at the point where it’s time to let the new owner decide to keep it as a ‘rat rod look’, olish off the stain and have an original paint look, r totally restore it.
Along with the car I will include the following:
