1993 Chevrolet Lumina Z34 LQ1 w/Automatic 42,000 miles Excellent Condition
Excellent condition. Only mild surface rust underneath absolutely no rust up above. Paint is excellent everywhere except on the hood -- these cars get very hot under the hood -- spidering is visible if you look closely and the two hood vents could use some attention the factory paint never sticks to those. The interior is faded but otherwise excellent condition the dash cover has shrunk a little creating a gap but otherwise excellent factory floor mats are included.
Chevrolet's LQ1 engine was competing with Ford's Yamaha built SHO engine they were putting in the Taurus. Chevrolet's design had a cam belt instead of internal chain -- the belt requires service every 60,000 miles. But never fear -- the LQ1 engine is 'non-interference' meaning if the belt breaks the valves will not contact the pistons there will be no internal engine damage. Changing the belt before it breaks if fairly easy there are youtube videos galore showing how its done -- the special Chevrolet tool set used to perform the procedure are included with this car (but not necessary to get the job done).
True 42,000 miles on the car. Nearly new Goodyear Eagle performance tires are fitted to the factory alloy rims and still have all their tread. The rims are in excellent shape not much corrosion at all.
A friend and I bought this car to put back together and resell. A mechanic's shop had started working on changing the cam belt but thought the engine might've been damaged -- they left the car tore apart and we bought it, threw some parts at it, put it back together, changed the oil and trans fluid and ran a couple tanks of gas through it -- it runs and drives like it did new in 1993.
Windows are professionally tinted (not the windshield) and are a dark red-purple color complementing the red interior. Outside is black most of the Z34 striping, stickers and decals are in good shape too.
This car is located in an east side suburb of Cleveland. Contact me if you'd like to see the car in person. Viewing will be by appointment only and at our convenience.
This car is a used car and offered for sale AS-IS. It's 24 years old. It's a quasi collector's car, turns heads and gets looks at car nights. It starts right up, runs and drives now but might need work tomorrow.
