Vehicle Overview
1956 CHEVROLET BEL AIR,2 DOOR POST,PROJECT CAR,GREAT RESTOROD CANDIDATE |
Up for sale is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post car. It is a factory rear deal V8 Bel Air car as per the vin #. I purchased this car from an estate sale where all proceeds went to charity. The restoration on it was started and never completed. It has been sitting out in the Arizona sun for quite a few years. What you see is what you get, there are no more additional parts or information available.
The body is nice and straight and this car has obviously been out in the dry southwest for quite some time. Aside from a partial left rear quarter panel replacement, it seems all the other body panels are original. I went around the car with a digital paint gauge and it has very little bondo on the body panels. It has some patch panels on the front floorpans and has a little rust on the usual spots where the body mounts to the frame. The frame itself is very solid and rust free. Overall it is a very solid car that lived in a dry climate.
This Bel Air is missing most of the interior, the exterior trim and front bumper, also some of the side glass is cracked orbroken. It has a Chevy small block in it now that looks complete but I have not tried to start it. It also has a 4 speed manual transmission and what looks like the original rear end. The exhaustas well as several other parts including the carburetor looks new and It seems like this car did run and drive before it was parked. The original 2 tone paint colors on this car according to the trim tag are Crocus Yellow/Laurel Green with a Charcoal pattern cloth and yellow imitation leather.
I have a clean and clear Arizona title for it and the original vin tag is still on the car as well as the body trim tag.
