1955 Bel Air 2 Door Hardtop….Barn Find! Rust Free and Straight!
I purchased this car about 10 years ago and it has been sitting ever since. It has been garaged for 35+ years. I have had it inside dry and heated storage the whole time I have had it, and the previous owner had the car inside a dry barn in Montana. The car last drove sometime in the 70’s. This car is 98% complete, very solid, very straight and rust free! This is the nicest builder I have seen in a while! The original engine and transmission are gone, and the windshield is gone. All the trim and stainless is with the car, mostly labeled, wrapped up in newspaper and stored nicely in boxes etc. The drivers floorboard was replaced at one time….they did a decent job but would need to be cleaned up. The only panel that needs to be replaced is rear inside valance panel inside the rear trunk. The replacement panel is with the car but a little rusty. The front fenders, headlight eyebrows, doors inside and out, hood, rear quarters, rocker panels, floorboards, trunk lid and panels are all in excellent straight and rust free condition. The dashboard had a stereo cut into it at sometime that could easily be fixed but i also have another un cut 55 dash that goes with it. All the interior door panels are complete and nice restorable condition. Seats are nice and solid, front seat has all its trim panels on the bottom side.
The original Bel Air frame has a small tweak on the front passenger frame horn. Looks very fixable, But I had an opportunity to purchase a nice frame that was professionally sand blasted and put into primer. Also with it a complete rebuilt front suspension that was all sandblasted painted black and all new suspension components installed. A 605 power steering box and mounting kit, and brand new 2inch dropped spindles that are set up for GM G-Body disc brakes (monte carlo, etc.). This is all included with the sale of the car.
I am selling this car to someone who wants to build their dream Bel Air, and knows how valuable a rust free project is! I am in no hurry or real need to sell this car. I have numerous restored classics and lots of projects, hate to let this one go. Please feel free to email with any questions, I can take any more detailed pictures if you want. Sorry about the bad pictures, I have lots more and can send detailed pictures of underneath inside outside or whatever. Also could arrange a viewing if you are in the Seattle area. Thanks. Buyer is Responsible for all shipping costs. Only Cash or Cashiers check from a recognized bank will be accepted. I will post more pictures soon.
