1959 Chevrolet Other Pickups 2 Door Big Window Additional Info:
Up For Auction is an Extremely Clean 1959 Big Back Window Chevy Truck Long Bed!
From what I can tell from the Vin Number, (I may be wrong, I don't know a lot about reading vin numbers so please excuse me if I give incorrect information) this truck was built in Oakland, CA and originally came from the factory with a V-8 Motor. But of course it no longer has the original motor, however it still has a Small Block Chevy. We were told that it's a 305, 307 or 327.
The truck does have a Clean Illinois Title.
My wife and I purchased the truck a few years ago from a family in California and was told that the truck had never left the state of California. From looking at the condition of the truck I would assume that to be true.
We did drive it around locally from time to time and it ran perfectly fine. Then we decided to pull the truck apart and start upgrading things. We didn't get very far and at this point, we just lost interest.
Like we said, this truck has a Big Back Window, the panels are extremely clean and virtually no rust or rot! But as you can see it does need to be painted or redone.
Also, as you can see there is no interior. The Bench seat was removed and thrown away.
The bed of the truck is almost taken apart and the bed floor was removed. The frame rails and underneath of the truck are extremely clean, but will need to addressed (painted) if you want to restore it. There is some surface rust, but no rot!
The truck does run and drive, the motor has great throttle response. Nothing leaks, but like any old vehicle it could use some fine tuning.
At this point the truck has now been sitting for 8 about months. It is started frequently to pull it in and out of the garage.
One of the things my wife and I purchase for the truck was a 12 Bolt Rear End that came out of a '67 Chevelle. It does have Strange Axles (posi or spool) and was told that it's a 373 or 410 Gear. I cannot be 100% sure.
We were going to use this rear end for the truck so we could put a wider tire and make it a four link truck. The rear end is complete - drum to drum and all brackets were removed and the rear end was sandblasted and now is ready for new brackets and paint.
This rear end will be sold separately from the truck, this auction does not include the rear end. We just wanted to mention it because that was our plan for the truck.
Once again, this is a 1959 Big Back Window Chevy Truck. The truck does have small dings, dents, scratches... It is by no means a perfect truck. The best thing about the truck is that it is a Big Back Window, the Panels and Chrome around the truck are extremely clean with no rot and virtually no rust.
I am not a body guy, but I do not see any replacement pieces of metal anywhere. The cab corners are perfect and do not appear to have been replaced. Being from California, I would assume that all the panels are original.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us! My wife and I have described the truck as best as we could. We are very honest eBayers. We are not here to mislead you in any way. However, we are certain that you will be extremely happy with the truck.
So please, if there is anything you are uncertain about please ask before bidding.
This vehicle is being sold locally as well, and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
