1967 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
I am reluctantly selling this 1967 Corvette coupe due to serious family health issues. This is a no hit car originally delivered to and sold new by Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles as verified by NCRS shipping report. I have owned this matching number car since June 2006. It started life as a 327-350 horsepower car with the following options: 4 speed Muncie close ratio transmission, fully tinted windows, AM-FM radio, 3.70 posi-trac rear, power windows, power steering and power brakes. The car had a body on restoration in 2004-2005 and the color was changed from Marlboro maroon to black. Interior is black vinyl and I had Al Knoch add headrests to the seats in 2009. The car has never been wrecked and the fame is just as you would expect from a California car........................absolutely mint and CLEAN CLEAN.
In the10 years I have owned the car I have driven it approximately 500 miles.........................so.............about 50 miles per year. During the first couple of years I enjoyed it as a matching number L-79 car. In 2008 I began the conversion to a big block car with my intention being to build it as an L-88 tribute car. When I was ready to build the engine I found a NEW in thecrate ZL-1 all aluminum 427 block so I decided to use it rather than an iron block with aluminum heads. The engine was professionally built using ALL NEW GM parts (heads, 8922 7/16 dimple rods, 6223 forged crank, TRW 10:1 pistons, Straub hyd roller cam with Morrell lifters) with the exception of the front timing cover and the oil pan, a custom built cast aluminum pan with stainless steel baffles and trap door. The engine has approximately 300 miles on it.
I wanted to build an accurate tribute to the fabulous L-88 Corvettes so I bought a new L-88 radiator support from Coffman Corvettes, a reproduction L-88 radiator form DeWitts, a real L-88 hood with functional cold air box, L-88 road draft tube, NOS GM no radio dash, reproduction heater delete plates, real J-56 brakes with correct original caliper stiffening brackets, M-22 trans with ALL new Masiero gears. A set of Stahl headers dump into custom made 3 inch side pipes with STS turbo baffles to give a very unique and throaty sound.
Car featuresa REAL and functional 36 gallon gas tank, option N-03 and was professionally installed.
Please note...............................the car is being sold with its original 15x6 DC rallye wheels..........................NOT themag wheels and Firestone race tires in the pictures. Those are old photos and the ones I took recently were too large to load. Sorry for any confusion.
I kept ALL the original matching number correct dated parts I removed during the conversion...............................engine, transmission and shifter, radiator and support, original exhaust manifolds and side exhaust system, original dash with AM-FM radio, all original heater components. This car could easily be converted back to a real matching number L-79 car. Car has a clear KY title. Car will be released to buyer ONLY when payment via wire transfer, cash or back check has cleared. Buyer is responsible for making shippingarrangements.
