Up for sale is my 1940 Chevrolet Master Coupe Street rod. I purchased this car in 2000, at that time it was completely original and untouched, not even a repaint. It had been in storage since 1970 and was fairly good condition, the floors were solid, but is had some rust through in both rocker panels and the bottom of one of the doors. The rockers and door bottom were completely replaced by reproduction pieces from Chev’s of the 40’s. It has received a frame off restoration/build that was completed in 2011; it has an all steel body and has been driven 3000 miles since completion.
Drive train: The engine is a 1987 Chevy 350TPI and has a 700R4 automatic transmission; it has a stock 1972 Nova rear end with the stock 3.08 gears. The driveshaft is a shortened unit that has been completely rebuilt. It rolls on BF Goodrich TA radials with Summit Racing 5 spoke aluminum wheels.
Mechanical: The front suspension is a TCI Mustang II unit with tubular A arms, power rack & pinion steering & 11” disc brakes. It has a TCI brake pedal assembly with the addition of a power assist unit; all of the brake lines have been replaced. The rear suspension is also from TCI, it is a parallel leaf setup with gas charges shocks all around. It has a new custom aluminum radiator, professionally installed Flowmaster exhaust and an Optima battery. The gas tank is a reproduction steel unit with an internal fuel pump; the fuel lines have also been replaced. The vacuum windshield wipers have been replaced with an electric motor from Newport Engineering, the wiper transmissions are also new.
Other upgrades: Inside it has an all new leather interior with a power driver’s seat, tilt steering wheel, power windows, Southern Air AC, VDO gauges, Lokar shifter and an AM/FM CD that has an auxiliary input and can connect to a i phone. The tinted glass is new; and all of the rubber seals & weather stripping for the entire car have been replaced. The entire interior has been coated with Lizard Skin heat reflecting insulation. The body has been painted 1996 Chrysler “Wildberry Pearlcoat” with a 2 stage paint system, the front and rear bumpers are new; and the grill has been re-chromed.
