Up for sale is my 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I purchased the carin 2008 at the Carlisle Spring Annual Car Show with 82,456 miles .I believe Iam the 3rd owner with previous ownersand carall beingfrom Pennsylvania and car now has on it 145,407 miles, I believe this to be original.
Car comes with some original docs: warranty card (showing delivery date of 12/30/85), owner's manual, '86 maintenance schedule booklet, quality control card, tire warranty info.
Power windows, cruise control (never used)power locks (not currently working). Original radio/cassette. Speakers are original and they sound it, get a bit distorted with high volumes- Also has the rally gauge cluster, tack oil water and volts cool for a 6 cyl no posi though, Headliner was replaced in 2008.
This car has always been 100% completely maintained by me, kept the car all GM or at least I tried. Check out the pics.I kept the original belts that have the GM parts numbers on them who keeps this stuf, you are buying history here. Front floor mats still have the GM logo.
In owning the car for the past 8 years, I have done the following work, along the way, besides the regular 3000 mile oil change (delco filter) and regular tune ups, which is will need to get done by new owner :Jan 2011- water pump/2nd one May 2011- replaced alternator w/ Delco reman. Interstatebattery ( few years old) Replaced ignition coil w/ upgraded MSD ignition coil.,2012- original tranny rebuilt, by transmissionshopremoved and reinstalled byme,Jan. 2012- Replaced starter,July 2014 radiator & thermostat replaced. Fuel pump replaced w/AC Delco fuel pump/fuel filter, . Front/rear shocks replaced with Billsteins/and sway links, 4 new tires bfgs 14"recently put on the car.no more the 10miles on them. Front to rear brake line replaced. rear wheel cylinders, Exhaust changed from the cat to back. Cat is hollowed out. I added factory rear sway bar much of the Air Conditioningcomponents have be changed and was working up til some time ago. I used hot shot (the 12 equivalent), evap, filter drier, orfice screen all replaced, blower motor can't remember if condenser was changed.I think hose by pass fender is leaking, a lot of oil residue on the hose, there is probably stuff that I am forgetting as well
New oem GM center caps on car, originals are in the trunk.just about the middlde of the car the Body side molding did come off and missing one piece( all others included)I installed a 1" vinyl molding in its place c
Car rides like a dream, it should for the money I spent on the billsteinsbut will stillneeds some minor work/tlc tune upis due. On a cold startup there is some blue smoke but it clears up once warm.( oneI got the car the heat riser was not working and was closed and I think this caused the valve seals to dry up hence the blue smoke on start up, but I did buy felpro valve seals and will be included with the sale. The car likes 89 or 91, if you use regular you may get a part throttle ping don't be cheap
This car was my cooldaily driver thenturned into the family car.(until taken off the road for a bigger car). Since I moved I began to put an average of 50 miles/day, 6 days/week into NYC with 2 kids in car seats. The car really does have a lot of pep for the 4.3. Its not a 350 that you are planning to putit or bigger if you dare but youwill be surprised at its power, it not a slug As you notice, the car was a victim of NYC parking. The car was side swiped while parked in Manhattan- damage on driver's side door knocking off theoriginal sport mirror.(could be fixedalso included)The car was also stolen just after one year. Yes the car has a kill switch and of course I didn't put it on,"Its just right up the street It will be fine" I was very lucky to get the car back 2 weeks later with a broken steering column and no gas
The car is at the right price to sell for a easy g body winter project I would love to keep the car but its going to sit outside through the winter. I have clear title in hand in my name no liens
