This auction is for a Real 1969 Camaro Indy Pace Car RS/SS Convertible. This is an original Pace car code Z11 with only 85,000 actual miles. This car is one of the very few and rare option of factory air conditioning. With only 3675 cars being produced these cars are a true collector’s car. It also has all the original sheet metal and an original interior. This Pace Car has been officially registered in the International 1969 Camaro’s Pace Car Registry as one of the original surviving Z11 Pace Setters.
To help them stand out on the large expanse of track, the 1969 pace cars were designed to be visible: Dover White RS/SS convertibles with Hugger Orange Z28 style stripes and orange houndstooth cloth seats. All were equipped with the recently released fresh air hood (aka: cowl hood).
This car is very nice inside, out, and underneath is original, and looks very nice. The power top works fine but does have a few wear marks and has one small tear but still looks great up or down. It did have a repaint a few years back and looks very nice today. Basically most everything on the car is original to my knowledge except paint, tires, exhaust etc. and I’m sure you can find a other items on the car that is not original, it is a Real deal Z11 pace car convertible that you can drive enjoy and have lots of conversations with anyone, anywhere you drive it at a show, cruise-in or just down to the ice cream store. The car has a nice paint job on it and is arrow straight down the sides. No rust issues with this car that I know of. It spent most of its life in the south.
The motor runs great and starts easy with no issues. As far as the actual miles I will sell the car miles exempt because I have no documented proof of it being actual although I bought it with actual miles, but I do believe the car has actual miles. The car looks original under the hood. The engine numbers on the front pad are correct. Again it was purchased as a complete numbers matching car. Thecar comes with power disc brakes and a 3-speed automatic transmission. Newer Firehawk Indy 500 raised white letter tires have been mounted on rally wheels with original cap centers.
The interior is original. This isone of very few with factory air conditioning. It has the pace car orange hounds tooth interior with factory console and gauges. The car has all its factory gauges including a factory tach, am/fm radio in the dash but does not work at this time all the original gauges work.
