Someone with vision built this 1970 Chevy C10 pickup, ecause the combination of the bright orange paint job, he fresh interior, nd big block engine take it to a whole new level of cool. Perhaps you have a Z/28 that needs a tow vehicle or you're just looking for a cool old truck, ou'll find that this one still works well as a truck but gets a lot more attention than a garden-variety modern pickup... well, his is it!The Hugger Orange paint looks quite fresh, nd the high-impact color works rather well on the tough-looking stepside truck. Up close it's well done with good finish quality and if you really want to take it up a notch or two, ave a pro give it a wet sand and buff to make it truly sparkle. No additions or deletions on the original trim, ut that's a good thing since these trucks were known for their reserved good looks and don't need a lot of flash to look great. Stepsides were becoming scarce in 1970 but you can't argue with how it looks, nd even inside the bed there's not much evidence that it ever led a hard life and today it's protected with a spray-in bedliner. Excellent chrome on the bumpers, hat GMC grille (yes we know it's a Chevy) with quad headlights, nd those big block letters on the tailgate will ensure lots of folk sit up and take notice when this truck rolls past. The interior is neatly upgraded, eamlessly blending old and new to create a great driving environment. Those gray leather seats are from a Honda Odyssey but they look like they were born here. There are also new carpets on the floor, n upgrade from the original rubber mat, lthough there's a protective rubber mat to keep things looking fresh. In my opinion, hese trucks offered the best-looking gauges of anything in the GM stable in the early '70s, ith this one offering a factory tach and bright, lear lenses that suggest they've been restored. There's an AM/FM radio in the dash, ut it's not hooked up, o it's ready for the entertainment system of your choice. Motive force comes from a stout 396 cubic inch V8, hich has been recently rebuilt. Thanks to a big 4-barrel carb, luminum intake, nd a robust-sounding dual exhaust system, t's quite entertaining to drive with endless torque at just about any speed. They didn't take any risks in the engine bay, inishing it with Chevy Orange paint, ome chrome dress-up items, nd lots of new parts. This truck has manual steering and brakes, o it does take some muscle to work it, ut that also emphasizes the truck's sporty demeanor and it's far from difficult to drive. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission was also recently rebuilt and offers a shift kit for lightning-quick reflexes. Underneath, t's solid and clean, lbeit not dressed for show, ut the important stuff is in excellent order, ncluding a new exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers. Lately Dodge acts like they invented the smooth-riding coil-spring truck suspension, ut this C10 had it decades ago, nd it rolls on a lowered suspension and a set of handsome aluminum wheels wearing staggered 30x9.50-15 front and 31x10.50-15 rear Pirelli Scorpion blackwall radials.Clean, ffordable, nd ready to roll, his Chevy offers a lot of bang for the buck or perhaps the foundation of something truly spectacular.
