1957 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3200 Additional Info:
This is a 1957 Chevy 3200 truck . I have cut the firewall and floor pan out of and fit it over a 91 s10 4wd . I've carefully fit and joined them at the cowl to allow proper drainage and air flow. Seam sealer was used at all the new seams. I also cut and flanged the s10 bed floor and plug/spot welded it to the 57 bed sides.Any rust present where they were joined was cleaned and treated. The 57 dash was kept and Dakota digital gauges installed with shift indicator kit. The radio is a repro look from AAR which has Bluetooth and satellite radio functions, speaker boxes were made in both rear corners for 6x9's. The headlight and heater controls are from the s10 along with the vent between them and new headlight switch installed . The s10 tilt column and steering wheel were kept with a astro van double u joint steering shaft replacing the s10 rag joint style. Both lower door hinges have new pins and bushings. I installed new drivers side window regulator rollers and a new regulator and glass on the passenger side with new door weatherstripping, glass channel seal and latches on both doors . New windshield and gasket, flange had 2 small spots of surface rust that was cleane, treated and painted and the s10 wiper motor is mounted in the stock 57 location with the washer bottle moved forward and a spray nozzle added to the cab. The seats are from a k5 blazer that recovered some time ago with mossy oak camo. Carpet was reused from the s10. A repro 57 glove box liner was shortened to fit. The battery is in a modified 3 drawer tool box thats behind passenger seat with a disconnect switch behind it on the outside. I've also adapted the cab fuel filler to the s10 tank. All of the s10 wire harness was kept and modified for the gauges and to move the wiper motor and headlight switch, solider and shrink tube used. I've installed the s10 door jamb switches so the dome light works automatically along with the under dash lights, automatic hood light was also added from s10. The tail lights are repro with small l.e.d. backup lights added, the front park light sockets have been changed to a 1157 socket to allow running lights and turn signals to function at the same time with repro lenses. The chassis/frame is the 91 s10 .I've changed the front and rear axles with 3.73 gears and limited slip in rear, springs, torsion bars, sway bars, spindles and lower control arms from a 97 gmc Jimmy. Upper control arms, ball joints, u joints, hanger bearing, half shafts, calipers, pads, shoes, shoe hardware, brake hoses, hub assemblies, 4wd vacuum actuator and hoses,4wd vacuum and indicator switches, shocks, sway bar links, idler arm, pitman arm,tie rods, and adjusters are all new. I've had the alignment done and rechecked after I changed to the 97 axles. The fuel pump and sending unit are new also. The engine is a 4.3l short block that I put new rod bearings (because I had them) and high volume melling oil pump, timing set, water pump and motor mounts. I then installed 02 vortec heads, exhaust manifolds and the ls style rockers that come with the heads (earlier vortec heads don't have them ). To use those heads and keep the t.b.i. injection I modified a edelbrock aluminum intake for the throttle body (some welding required ). Also new tps, temp sensor, knock sensor, thermosta, radiator, hoses, belt and tensioner. I've removed the clutch fan and installed a dual fan module from a 99 Malibu. The transmission is a 700r4 with shift/spring kit from a gmc 1500 with a new detent cable for the s1, front and rear seal are new too. Trans was serviced at same time kit was installed. Transfer case was disassembled, cleaned, seals replaced and reassembled with fresh fluid. The computer (#747)and injectors came from the same gmc 1500 as the transmission. The wheels are real American racing torq thrust 15x7 with brand new 235 70 fronts and the rear are 275 60 all bfg's. The wheels and rear tires came off my big block Buick so the rear tires aren't worn out but they were subjected to the torque from the Buick which they couldn't hold and put out plenty of smoke to let me know it. The a/c is cold, low 40's with new condenser, accumulator, hoses, orfice, evaporator and fan. The compressor is a reman from O'Reilly auto and most new or reman parts came from there also. I think that about covers it, I've put almost 2000 miles on it since I've built it without any major issues. It drives and rides great with a lot more leg room and comfort than the stock 57 floor pan or suspension ever had. I have a lot more pics, the ebay app wont let me add old pics so I've taken these just for this ad. Thanks for looking and reading. Happy bidding! Please ask questions if you have any and feel free to check it out in person before you bid. It is for sale locally also. It is registered and insured here in North Alabama which doesn't require a title just a bill of sale so that's how it's being sold, JUST A BILL OF SALE NO TITLE AVAILABLE.
