This 1950 chevy pick up truck was owned by a farmer in south dakota until I bought it and brought it back home. After doing a tune up (points plugs condensor, etc) and running it off a auxillary fuel tank, the truck started right up and idled beautifully. I installed a new brake master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders and lines and drove the truck. I found the gears all shifted great the way they should with no noise. The front brakes stopped the truck fine but the rears should be done to make it a daily driver. After giving it some thought I decided to leave the truck original paint as the body was so extrememly solid with great cab corners, doors, floors etc. My intention for leaving it original is to show the original paint and steel and give you the option of painting it the color you want or clear coating it and keeping the patina intact. I really videoed and pictured it well so you can see how nice it has survived. The truck has the original seat springs but the seats should be recovered. The windows go up and down and the doors shut with no sag. The box has the original wood in it and should be replaced with new wood. The tires hold air and are servicable but not new. The 216 6 cyl engine ran great with no smoke but I did notice under heavy acceleration it had some engine noise. If you were going to keep this engine, while it is usable the way it is, I would recommend going through it. The engine does not over heat and as the video shows, driving 50 mph the truck handled true and drove down the road very nice. We coverted this truck to a 12 volt system and bypassed the original 6 volt wire harness but we did hook up the headlights so you can drive it while you take it to the level you want. It has a fresh title ready for you to register in your name with numbers matching the vin tag on the truck. This truck has a rare aluminum visor that really sets the truck off well. The plate toppers and thermadore air cooler in the window do not go with the sale as they are part of my personal collection. the vintage plates do go with the sale. The windows do have some cracks in the glass, easy replacment lmc trucks $30. I do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it, let the video, pics, and description tell the story. As everyone has their own opinion on what a classic unrestored truck should be, I would recommend coming by appointment to check it out or hiring ebay to do a independant inspection for you. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable . If you have any questions, call 563 568 5111 or 563 568 1182 thanks and have fun bidding on this very solid 1950 3600 chevy pick up truck!
