Own a piece of Automotive History A very nice 1981 Cadillac Seville could be yours. This survivor was purchased in 2014 from a gentleman in Washington state who kept it stored indoors and only drove it occasionally for 20 years. Since I had the car, most all mechanical issues have been dealt with. Among these were shocks, brakes, front axles, fuel injection throttle body and ecu, and body fillers all around. This is the infamous V864 model available for one year only. This is the first modulated displacement engine ever put into production. The V864 system is fully functional and selectable. This car can achieve 22 mpg on a highway trip. Electronic Fuel injection and full on board diagnostics. Around 140000 original miles. The good: uses little to no oil, recently serviced, very nice to drive, excellent interior, caretaken by a dedicated hobbyist with a full shop for two years, everything works* The not so good: slight leak in transmission (though in 5000 miles I have never had to add fluid) Slight flair in the 3-2 downshift under light throttle. On a hot day, sometimes the ecu "forgets" to turn on the fuel pump. I have installed an override system for the rare times this has happened. There is an intemittent electrical issue with the left rear window. Some overzealous polishing has resulted in thinning paint and some surface rust on the upper body corners. This car will need paint work to look perfect. The headliner has drooped a bit over the years and has been secured with upholstery fasteners. |
