| | A fantastic 1977 Eldorado with just 33,400 miles from new. A local car purchased from the original owner's family. Rare color combination. Very pretty and drives like a dream! | | | | Overview | | odometer: 33,400 | VIN: 6L47S7Q326001 | Engine: 425 Cubic Inch V8 | Transmission: Automatic | Paint: Frost Orange Firemist, code 96 | Interior: Antique Saffron | | | For aficionados of big, 1970s American cars, the pinnacle of the era has to be the 1971-1978 Cadillac Eldorado. These big beasts featured front wheel drive, loads of luxury fittings and colossal engines upward of 500 cubic inches. Our featured example from 1977 is a fantastic, one car owner that has covered just 33,000 miles from new. It was originally purchased locally at Daniels Cadillac of Allentown, PA and has remained in Allentown since then, always lovingly cared for and garage kept. We purchased it directly from the elderly owner, and she happily informed us it was always her late husbands favorite car among the many he drove. This handsome Eldorado is finished in Frost Orange Firemist paint (code 96), which was an extra cost option, accented by a Buckskin elk-grain vinyl roof (code T) and optional Antique Saffron interior (672). The body is very straight and largely free of dents, dings and scratches. The paint is believed to be original, and looks outstanding overall. The only areas that detract are the urethane body extensions which show some cracks, peeling and flaking. There is also a small, approximately half-inch area that bubbling at the base of the vinyl top along the RH quarter. Beyond those blemishes, the paint is shiny and attractive. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition and remain straight and tidy. There is minor ageing present, but no serious pitting, peeling or corrosion. This car appears never to have been hit, rusty or damaged. Inside, the original Antique Saffron upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips, tears or blemishes in the seats. Original carpets are in very good order, with Cadillac logo overmats installed. The original radio still works as does the power antenna, power seats and power windows. It appears never to have been smoked in and the dash and trim are all in excellent condition. The door panels are in good shape, though some fading is apparent on the drivers side. The tilt and telescopic wheel works as it should and all switches and dials work as well. We thoroughly enjoy driving this big Eldorado. The 472 cubic inch V8 starts easily, runs strong and exceptionally smooth, and shows no signs of leaks or drips. The engine bay could use some TLC, but everything is intact and primarily original. The transmission shifts smoothly and quietly and the big Eldorado floats down the road just like it should. The car feels solid and smooth, exhibiting the tight feel that a genuine 30K mile car should. This Eldorado is a mechanically sound and reliable car that would make a great first classic or a welcome addition to a larger collection. With minimal effort it can be brought up to a very high standard. Rarely do we see American classics of this era so well maintained and with only one owner from new. This is a great opportunity to get, quite literally, a whole lot of car for a very reasonable price. Sale includes original owners manual, full size spare, original space saver spare, jack and tools. | | | Condition | | body: Good | paint: Good | Interior: Good | Engine: Excellent | Transmission: Excellent | Tires: 70%+ Tread | | | An excellent, solid one-owner car that appears to have been extremely well maintained from day one. Bodywork is straight and tidy, with the exception of weak urethane filler panels. The interior is excellent for an original car, needing nothing. Engine bay could use a good cleaning and would benefit from a detailing, but is otherwise original and correct. A fantastic car that can be driven and enjoyed as-is, or brought up another level with minimal effort. | | | Terms of Sale | | At Ruozzi Brothers Collection, fine automobiles are our passion.
