Up for sale is an excellent and original 1961 Cadillac Sedan deVille 4-door, 6-window hardtop sedan with 66k original miles. This is an overall excellent survivor in completely original condition. This was a California Black Plate car for most if its life (I still have both plates). The history as best I can put it together is I am the third owner. First owner was in California from 1961 to 2010. Second owner purchased in 2010 and kept car in South Carolina. I believe I am the third owner as I purchased it from South Carolina gentlemen. Best I can tell car has been garaged its entire life.
The overall condition is excellent; I have listed more details below on each major system. However, in general the car appears 100% original, no modifications. It is 100% rust free, solid as the day it left the factory. No rust on any body panels, under body, in trunk, or chrome. Very unusual for a 55+ year old vehicle.
I drive this about 500 miles per year, in parades, car shows (wins awards) and around town. It starts every time, no mechanical issues to worry about. I have taken it up to 100 mile trips with no concern. I do put in lead substitute and octane booster every tank as a precaution.
I have collected an extensive amount of historical information on the car including original dealer brochure and 1961 DuPont color charts for Cadillac cars. Also much documentation on 1961 Cadillac’s in general. I have the original owner’s manual also.

Historical build information (as provided by GM Archives); Car was produced on January 24, 1961, engine serial number 59439, engine unit number 6K59678, body number 9963 with Group B option code along with the above mentioned accessories.
Body & Trim:
Very straight original body panels in what appears to be the original Olympic White paint. I do not know if car has ever had a repaint but it shows no signs of overspray anywhere. There are minor chips, nicks, and dings present, they are indeed very minor, and the paint still shines very well. It looks excellent but not show car paint level.
Chrome
The chrome and trim are very nice. There is no rust on the chrome, no peeling or flaking. Appears to be original and never re-plated. Note: there is a small dent in the bumper near from driving/fog light (see picture). Hardly can see it but is visible if looking for it.
Glass
All the glass is in excellent condition and appears to be original. The grill is excellent, no dents or other damage, these grills are expensive to re-chrome and re-plate so one in excellent condition is a plus.
Wheels and Tires
Original factory hubcaps painted with original white inserts to match car exterior color. Tires are Firestone brand whitewalls with excellent tread, no leaks, all hold air.
Panels
All panels align correctly (at least as well as they did in 1961), all doors, hood and trunk close perfectly, latches work, no sagging or looseness in any areas of panels. The interior controlled drivers side mirror works as from new.
Trunk
Like the rest of car trunk looks great, albeit not restored. No rust anywhere and it appears to have the original spare tire and jack.
Interior
The vehicle has the original black cloth and white leather. Seats are in outstanding original condition, no cracks rips or tears. Front seat is optional six-way power.
All interior chrome and painted surfaces are excellent. Small chipping on black paint around steering wheel due to normal use of car. Can easily be repainted black if desired. Headliner, door panels and carpeting (black) all very good. All power options work including all windows, radio, radio antenna, wipers, interior lighting, etc.
Dash warning lights come on and go off as they should. Temperature gauge stay in the middle under all circumstances. I drove this car in a July 4th parade last year for over 90 minutes at 85 degrees F and that needle does not travel past half way, very cool running car!
Drivetrain
Original Cadillac 325HP 390 V8 runs excellent. Engine compartment is excellent condition, see pictures. The factory 4 speed automatic transmission shifts just like it should. The car drives straight down the road, no wandering or pull. It brakes straight and firm with fully power assist (original finned drum brakes).
Recent mechanical items done in last couple of years include; completely rebuilt carburetor by a professional, runs excellent! New windshield wiper motor.
There are a few mechanical items that are not 100% perfect that I am aware of and want to disclose. Nothing unusual for 55-year-old car:
A/C does not work. Everything is in place and the compressor turns, just does not blow cold.
Power seat operates in all directions except one (does not bother me as the most important directions work fine).
Clock in the dash is all there but does not work.
Payment, Title, Shipping:
I have a clear Pennsylvania title in hand, and it matches the VIN exactly.
I have made every effort to describe the vehicle as accurately as I can, remember it is a 55+ year old classic car, and is being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied.
