1955 Cadillac Series 62 Hardtop Additional Info:

This car is owned by the widow of a car restorer/collector and originally came from Colorado. This car was his pride and joy. Never really got to enjoy it much because of health problems Restoration started in early 2000's and completed in 2010. It is a beauty as can be seen from the pictures. I have detailed paperwork as to what was replaced and when and it will go with the buyer.

Engine/Transmission

The engine a 331 cu. inch V8. The engine has been replaced as it has a different s/n than the car however it was also a 55 series 62. The engine was completely rebuilt along with the automatic transmission. The power brakes have a rebuilt master cylinder, wheel cylinders, drums turned, rebuilt power booster. The car runs and stops, steers and tracks nicely. The original radiator has been recored and has no cooling issues. The black metal around the radiator is powder coated. The engine compartment was painted before the engine was installed. See Pictures. A new battery has been installed. The cables are new along with the battery supports. The horn works but sometimes comes on random so it is disconnected. The A/C compressor is rebuilt and installed in the car however is not connected or charged. This will need to fixed for the air to work. The car has been stored (inside) for a couple of years and the carb pump dryed out so it doesn't work. It makes the car a little hard to start when cold but runs fine. It probably needs a carb kit installed. Also, the windshield wipers are missing. It also has the optional headlight dimmer. I have not checked it as I am not sure how too. It sure looks neat tho!

The transmission operates perfectly with no issues. The radio lights up and comes on but the dial seems to slip.

Exterior

The body is painted green and looks very good. There is a couple of blemishes or scuffs pointed out in the pictures. The metal is not bent but a couple of small scuffs. The exterior chrome has been totally re-chromed and is absolutely beautiful. The glass is original except for the windshield, which has been replaced. The floor pans and trunk pan are original and solid with no patching or rust that I can see. The trunk has been carpeted to match the interior of the car, and all jack equipment and spare is there.

The interior has been completely redone in a two-tone green fabric. The chrome, stainless and seating areas look very nice . The carpet has been totally replaced along with matching floor mats.

This car has not been driven very much since completed just to a few car shows. It's a real head turner at the shows.

The car is located near Tulsa, Ok and is available for inspection. Please look at the pictures and let me know if you need more picture or call Vern at 918-857-0895.
