For sale is a very special 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. I purchased the car in February of 2021. It was a very clean car to begin with. It had all the factory panels. Absolutely no rust, accept the rear floor panel had a couple of small pin holes. I replaced both rear floor pans just to be sure. Also, the interior was showing wear and the original engine was on it’s way out. I drove it until the engine finally gave in, then the car went through a two-year custom build completed in the summer of 2024.

My vision with all my cars:

I am a car enthusiast and it’s my hobby. This is not a business for me, I don’t do this for a profit. As a matter of fact, I lose money on every car, but I get to enjoy them for a while. I daily drive my cars, and I put my family in it. For me a car is not something you just go on a weekend cruise to a local car show or car meet. For me I am supposed to be able to take it to work, run errands, etc. I have to be able to safely drive it on the freeway at 75-80mph, and be confident that my car will be able to stop, accelerate and give me safe drive at that speed. At the same time if I get stuck in traffic on a hot day with the AC on, I don’t have to worry about the car overheating.

With that mindset I started this build…

Drivetrain:

Although the factory engine and transmission will accompany the car, but the first thing to change was the factory drivetrain. It was replaced with a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine from GM Performance (not a used pull out), with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, aluminum catch can and a K&N air filter with a custom intake pipe.

I wanted the engine to look somewhat era correct, so I decided to get finned valve cover looking coil covers and a Sniper ram air intake manifold. Also, I wanted to take the black and gold theme to the engine pay, so I painted the engine block and heads gold and the remaining black.

The exhaust system needed to change as well, but I wanted to keep the exhaust note quiet and I accomplished that with a custom-fabricated stainless-steel exhaust system with four mufflers. 2 for each bank

Delivering the power from the powerful LS3 to the rear wheels was curtesy of a 4L80-E four-speed automatic transmission, custom fabricated driveshaft and a Currie Ford 9″ differential.

The suspension system has all new bushings shocks and 2″ drop springs. An anti-sway bar was installed in the front.

The fuel system was done with all new Aeromotive Phantom fuel system and stainless-steel brake fuel lines.

After almost 70 years, the wiring on these cars is very old and brittle. Most people do paint and body, maybe do and interior and call these cars restored. You can see that, and everyone looks for that, but what you don’t see is the 70-year-old wiring. That’s not good enough for me. For me I have to make sure it’s safe and reliable. So, the entire wiring on the car was redone with all new wires and connectors. And for the people that haven’t come across this, it’s an extra $15,000 expense between labor and material.

The brake system was completely redone with four-wheel Willwood disc brakes, a Willwood master cylinder, along with all new stainless steel brake lines.

Exterior:

The multi-spoke wheels were fabricated by Colorado Custom, modeled after the factory Kalsey Hayes wheels but in an 18” size instead of the factory 15” wheels. They were finished in matte gold with a polished lip, and finished with Cadillac emblem center caps. The wheel sizes are 18×9″ front and 18×11” back. These beautiful wheels were

wrapped in low profile whitewall tires measuring 235/50/R18 and 295/40/R18, respectively, curtesy of Diamond Back tires

The factory black vinyl convertible top was replaced with a custom-sewn maroon canvas top, (looks red in the pictures but actually it’s maroon).

and its red interior has been reupholstered in high grade leather.

All exterior emblems, and lettering has been replaced. The front grill was replated in the factory gold

The headlights were converted to glass-lens LED headlights. They look just like the factory headlights, but give off a strong light like a modern car.

Interior:

Seats have a power-adjustable front bench seat. The factory seat springs were removed and a modern foam-supported seats were built on the factory frames. So you lose the factory spring seat feeling, where a person keeps bouncing and sinking in the seat without any support. Instead, you have a seat that has foam in it just like all modern cars. This way a person can drive for a long time without getting tired. The custom redone seats were then covered in its current shade of bright red high-grade leather. Door panels and the dash panels were covered in the same leather.

HVAC system is by Vintage Air.

Sound system was custom made as well with a Bluetooth capable Kenwood head unit, high end speakers, and a low-profile sub-woofer.

custom speaker grilles were fabricated after the rear seat center speaker grill

A custom-made center console has been added, and it houses a Kenwood head unit as well as polished controls for the Vintage Air climate-control system and a center vent.

The convertible-top cylinders and pump were replaced during the build,

All the interior trim along with the dashboard was re-chromed and polished, at which time replacement rear door panels were custom fabricated out of thicker steel than the factory flimsy panels

The entire car was covered in Dynomat sound-deadening material was added to the firewall, floors, door panels, and trunk.

The factory red-rim steering wheel was rebuilt by Quality Restorations, Inc., of San Diego, California, which involved it being recast, repainted, and re-chromed.

All the gauges were rebuilt

The trunk features custom-fabricated paneling and replacement carpets as well as a custom accent panel with Eldorado lettering and a Cadillac logo. The battery was relocated to the trunk and is hidden underneath the paneling, along with an amplifier and a subwoofer housed in a custom low-profile box.

I have more photos and videos videos of the car available upon request.

This build has cost me almost $300,000, which I can prove with receipts, but anyone that has restored a classic Cadillac will agree. I am selling the car because I need to make space for new projects that are finishing up soon and I have no parking spaces. I currently have 27 cars and I am not desperate to sell so please don’t send me low ball offers.
