This exquisite 1979 Cadillac Coupe de Ville was purchased by the current owner from the highly esteemed Barrett-Jackson Auction Company out of Scottsdale, Arizona in October, 2006 (non-auctioned transaction). Details of the car at the time can be seen at Barrett-Jackson's website archives for the year 2006, lot #9057. (One of the above pictures shows the car at the Barrett-Jackson facility c.2006).As to the car, It was originally purchased on June 11th, 1979 by its first owner in Greensboro, NC from Black Cadillac-Oldsmobile Inc., also of Greensboro NC. When purchased by the current owner from Barrett-Jackson, the car returned to its home state of North Carolina, where it is currently being offered for sale.At present, the car has approximately 19,350 original miles. It has been stored in a climate controlled garage, and only driven during fair-weather days of spring and fall. In fact, the car appears to still have its original windshield wipers. The A/C system has been updated to R-134a with new compressor, etc. Blows nice and cold. The car required a new radiator when purchased, along with new shocks. These original components will come with vehicle sale. The exhaust system was also updated with a Corvette style catalytic converter, and "cat-back" mandrel-bent dual pipes with a pair of Walker "Quiet-Flow" mufflers . The drivetrain is original, with Cadillac's famed 7.0 litre 425 cu.in. V8 and 3-speed automatic transmission. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes were standard equipment. The original AM/FM Stereo has been updated with a New Old Stock 1979 AM/FM-Stereo 8-Track player. The stereo unit has provision for connecting an iPod type device.The original working radio will come with the vehicle.
