The fourth generation Cadillac DeVille was represented from 1971 through 1976 redesigned with separated quad headlights, V-shaped eggcrate front grill, and prominent bumper guards. Body side molding ran the length of the car, with classic fender skirts decorating the rear wheel openings, and only slightly remodeled tail panel with large, horizontal reverse lights, and lacking the chrome separated from previous years to give it a cleaning presentation. Rocker panel trim and DeVille script were special to these models making the easy to identify. Inside, they featured a new curved dash that offered the most interior width of any production vehicle built by General Motors to date. By 1974, a new option package called the d'Elegance package was offered and featured unique soft velour upholstery, deluxe padded doors, front seatback storage pockets, rear entry assist handles, deep pile carpeting, floor mats, standup Cadillac hood ornament, and body accent stripes. We are excited to offer this wonderfully kept single ownership 1974 Cadillac Sedan Deville d'Elegance finished in decerning Cotillion White over special striped Medium Amber Cloth interior available only with the d'Elegance package and Terra Cotta vinyl roof. Options include powerful 472ci V8 engine, automatic transmission, automatic climate-controlled air conditioning system, power windows, power locks, remote adjustable mirrors, 6-way power seat, signal-seeking AM/FM radio with power antenna, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, power front disc brakes, power steering, illuminated passenger vanity mirror, trumpet horns, door edge guards, power trunk release with pull down, and 1" radial whitewall tires! This special example sold new to its original owner, Joe Scott, on June 17th, 1974 through Elder Cadillac of Belleville, IL just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Contrary to popular belief that Mr. Scott always retained each of his personal Cadillacs into his private collection, we actually now have proof that he traded a vehicle in on a purchase! With just 11 miles on the odometer of this Sedan DeVille, he elected to include his 1971 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe as partial payment in the transaction! This new Cadillac would immediately be titled at their Fort Lauderdale, FL home where it would remain until the early 1990's. Today, the odometer has only accumulated 67,532 actual miles and continues to show extremely well! Used sparingly these last several years, the St. Louis Car Museum took the liberty of preparing it for sale for the first time in 50 years! Upon arrival, we would perform an immediate tune to include professionally rebuilding the original carburetor with new floats; new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor; fresh engine air filter; new engine oil with filter; repacking the front wheel bearings; cleaning up the front brakes, turning the front brake rotors and installing new pads; new transmission output shaft seal, and balancing and installing brand new tires. It was then thoroughly detailed for its next lucky owner! Included with the sale will be all the original owner's manuals & warranty booklets, window sticker (hard to read), copy of purchase order and sales documentation, Florida registrations to 1993, and original title from issuance in July 1974. Please feel free to call with questions or to schedule your chance to review this unique Sedan DeVille d'Elegance in person. Thanks as always for looking!
