1957 Cadillac Other Fully Restored Show Quality Paint Chrome & Trim Disc Brakes Additional Info:

Hello friends, we're beyond excited, and honored to be assisting the current owner of this 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Convertiblefind the next caretaker of this prominent piece of classic car history.

The Cadillac

Simply stated, this '57 is gorgeous, and restored in the most desirable color combination. It's undergone a quality professional restoration that still shows incredibly well. This one isn't absolutely perfect, but gosh, just look at the mile-deep depth of the paint, and endless shine on the chrome. The light dances off every curve of this one, friends. My goodness, this Cadillac is a piece of artwork. We'd like the nearly 400 photos and half hour of video do most of the talking for this beauty, but here are some details we think folks will appreciate.

The exterior of this Cadillac is absolutely stunning. I can't even begin to imagine what it cost to have just the chrome and trim restored on this car. The bumper chrome depth & shine is amazing, just completely amazing. Body lines are straight, crisp, and panel gaps look fantastic. A seemingly endless amount of time was spent to make sure this car looked beautiful when finished. The restorer cared about this one, 100%.

The convertible top has no rips or tears, and all glass, including the back convertible window all look terrific. I believe the glass was replaced during the restoration, as it's just too nice to be original. Please see the photos and videos, though, as we point out a few minor exterior flaws that a discriminate eye will pick up, but do not detract from the overall quality of the car.

The interior picks up right where the exterior left off. The red and white interior is an iconic look for this car, and looks fantastic. Again, interior chrome and trim appears to be restored or replaced with the restoration, along with other components. The leather seats appear to have been recovered at some point, but the white sure has an original look to it. Regardless, the seat leather, stitching, and buttons look terrific. We didn't notice this until after the video was taken, but the driver's side ash tray isn't opening. We're not sure why. Also, although mentioned in the video below, note that the passenger side rear power window switch needs to be re-secured to the door panel properly. The trunk is also nicely restored and is ready to be opened for shows. The power convertible top operates well, and seems to be in nice mechanical shape. Please see the video below for a more in-depth options & accessories test, including seeing the top operate.

Underneath, the car doesn't see the level of detail as the rest of the restoration, but still shows quite nicely. The undercarriage has been undercoated, although it doesn't appear to have been done any time recently...likely with the restoration. It appears a new fuel tank has been installed, along with hoses. It's unknown whether lines were done. There are no fuel leaks, and there isn't any sort of concern there.

This '57 starts, runs, holds idle, and drives VERY well. It has power steering, and a quality front power disc brake conversion was installed under the current stewardship. From my experience, the Cadillac stops much more like a disc brake car from the '60s or '70s, versus a car from the '50s. To me, it feels safe on the road in our modern world, if that makes sense. After being driven about 35 miles for our videos, we noticed several areas of oil seepage that weren't occurring prior. In our experience with classic cars, this is common when vehicles are not driven regularly. If the next owner plans to drive the car regularly, we would recommend seeing if these seals re-swell with some additional miles, before looking at replacing any gaskets.

Note that the engine pad stamp matches the door jamb tag, leading us to believe this '57 has its original engine. The other engine components very well may be original, too, and definitely look period correct. The transmission tag also appears to be a correct assembly line C-57 piece for a '57, as well as the rear axle, but we have no means to decode these 4-speed Hydra-matic transmissions or rear axles from this era. Please see the Ride Along video for my other observations on how enjoyable it was driving this '57. As noted, I suspect the car has an exhaust leak somewhere up front, and it could use an alignment, as it pulls right.

The Cadillac was previously purchased through auction, and none of the restoration information was included. We can see a dry-air filter and air cleaner upgrade has been added, with the original air cleaner available. The factory drum brake kit will also be included with the sale, if desired. We see a transmission cooler mounted in front of the radiator, as well. That will definitely help in the southern states, if the car is driven more regularly.

This '57 Cadillac Series 62 convertible is a gorgeous example that will stand tall in anyone's collection. The paint depth and gloss is something to admire, and it gets looks EVERYWHERE. If you're looking for a statement piece, this '57 absolutely has to be considered. It's a fun, iconic piece of American automotive history.
