1962 Cadillac Fleetwood Additional Info:
Cadillac Fleetwood . Condition is Used. Solid Body. Needs Restoration.
1962 Cadillac Fleetwood 4 door Hardtop 6 window. Car last driven 1985, originally from California was in a large "collection" in Montana. Factory A/C, Power Windows (work) 4 Power Vents (don't) Power Locks. Signal Seeking Radio still wants to work. Power seat (6-way) and top appears to be painted like a vinyl top (possibly originally just white paint.) 48K miles, white body, medium blue interior. I tried to replace everything missing or damaged, still has a bad driver door and missing one skirt. Hood bent at a hinge right side. I replaced RF fender with a good AZ fender as it had damage. I've supplied near all trim missing or damaged. Replaced entire brake system except steel lines, replaced entire fuel system tank to carb except steel line. Replaced tires, wheels, steering gear. Front end tight, needs little work. Engine complete. It does run (little smoke) and moves under it's own power. Easy to load, drive. Car had mice in it, cleaned out. Seats need re-do, door panels great. Not ready for road trips, but might not need much beyond a valve job. Interior needs work, body needs paint-- otherwise a fairly simple restoration. It has a bent rear trailing arm from being loaded, I priced one at $50, but have not found one yet to replace it. If I can get one, it'll be in the trunk- easy enough to change. If I have time, I'll change it. Does not affect its driving. Bought without a title when DMV was closed for 3 months, taking DMV a month now just to get in- so selling for now without title. After I apply for it, will be relisted next Spring as it takes 3 months to get the title. Car will be listed 3 weeks, intended to be sold now without a title. I am listing the car locally in Craigslist also in Roseville, Ramsey, Minnesota so if you're local-- come see it. Can be sold at any time. After I begin DMV title process, car sale will end and it will be re-listed in Spring as it takes 4 months to get the title. So if you want it now- you accept it "as is" with a bill of sale- no title.
I've done so much to this car, it should be a fairly easy resto for anyone who wants a low mileage rustfree Cadillac to get it presentable pretty fast.
I already plan to finish the mechanical restoration if it has to stay here for 6 more months, and I have already sourced replacement identical interior needs so it should be a titled driver by Spring. Maybe next year will be "normal."
