1963 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD SIXTY-SPECIALBody Style 6039 –VIN 163M065573
Turino Turquoise with White Padded Top and Black & White Interior
Current Mileage: 123,797
Engine rebuilt in 2007 with only 5,700 miles on it since rebuilt. New paint and vinyl top in 2013. Ordered with nearly every factory option available in 1963. First year that rare padded roof was made available. Clean title, car originated in NJ and never left the state. Original NJ registration cards from almost all years from initial registration to mid-80’s included, as is a copy of the original title.
All repairs and restoration under current owner is documented with receipts. Rented/appeared in an episode of A Crime to Remember television show, and articles on this car were featured in a pair of issues of The Self-Starter, the international magazine of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club. More photos available upon request if you send me your email address, but as this is a vintage car and all sales are final, I strongly suggest investigating the car in person before bidding.
·Engine: Runs strong with no issues. Engine rebuilt in 2007 with only 5,700 miles on it since rebuild. Carb, power steering pump, exhaust manifolds, alternator, cooling systems, electrical system, all rebuilt and/or well maintained and working well. Splash aprons and hood insulation replaced.
·Lights: Headlights and taillights work fine.Headlight switch works fine. Turn signals worked fine until late last year;electrical seems good but they do not stay engaged from the turn signal lever. Feels like the turn signal switch may have shifted position. Cornering lights work fine when they can be engaged. Reverse lights do not work.
·Transmission: Works well with no issues. Shifts fine, fluid/filter properly maintained.Slight leak from dipstick if overfilled.
·Dash: Speedometer, odometer and temperature gauge work fine. Gas gauge works but needs adjustment. All warning/trouble/trunk open lights work. Clock works intermittently.
·Brakes/Wheels/Tires: No issues. Tires in good shape. Booster works fine, no leaks or worn brake cylinders. All brake shoes adjusted.
·Exhaust: No issues. Exhaust manifold gaskets replaced. No leaks or rattles from muffler, resonator, or pipes.
·Suspension: No issues. Front shocks were changed recently, rear are fine (but new shocks were purchased and are included in auction). Lube performed at each oil change. Floats like a Cadillac!
·Trunk: No issues. Most of the trunk lining and all the weatherstripping was changed out in 2015.
·Exterior: Repainted in correct Turino Turquoise in 2013. Only minor imperfections in my opinion, the notable one being a couple of smallchips on the rear driver’s quarter panel. New vinyl top also installed in 2013. One corner of windshield trim sticks up just a little bit. Most chrome in great shape, including lower bumper ends. Some of the front bumper is stained a bit and tiny dent in rear bumper, otherwise no notable issues with chrome or trim.
·Interior: White leather seats in very presentable condition. One rip at driver’s side seat, one button cover missing on passenger's seat, some fading from sunlight on the very top of the rear seat back. Otherwise normal wear fororiginal leather. All door panels in very good shape. Carpet, headliner, floor mats, dash pad, and all Narra Wood panel inserts in excellent shape. Window weatherstripping is worn. Window chrome in fine/excellent shape.
Glass: All in great shape. The windshield was replaced with correct A/C tint glass by previous owner. No chips or scratches.
Accessories/Misc:
·Heater/Defroster: Works fine. Switch, heater core, and all blower speeds work without incident.
·A/C: Does not work.
·Power Windows: All four work strong and fine.
·Power Vent Windows: All four work strong and fine. Front motor gears were recently replaced.
·Six-Way Power Seat: Does not currently adjust.Appears that dried grease in the tracks may be restricting movement.
·Seatbelts (front/rear): Present and working fine.
·Tilt Steering: Works fine.
·Power Locks: Work intermittently. There’s at least one break in vacuum lines that power it.
·Power Steering: Works fine.
·Vanity Mirror: Works fine.
·Horn: Works fine.
·Power (Vacuum) Emergency Brake Release: Works fine.
·Cruise Control: Does not engage. Pushback at gas pedal (as designed) can be felt when set speed is reached, but unit will not engage at preset speed.
·Power (Vacuum) Trunk Release Switch (in glove compartment): Works fine. Pops trunk and light on dashboard illuminates when trunk lid is open.
·Power (Vacuum) Pull-Down: Works fine. Engages when lid is closed and pulls it into locked position.
·Windshield Wipers: Works fine. Motor, switch, and linkage all respond without issues. Takes a little time for wipers to“park” when shut off.
·Windshield Washer: Does not work.
·Headlight Switch: Works fine. No issues turning on headlights, high beams, or interior lights. All interior lights work.
·Guide-Matic Headlight High Beam Adjuster: All components present but does not work.
·Radio: AM with WonderBar. Works fine but needs cleaning (has crackle when adjusting). Front and rear speakers work fine.
·Power Radio Antenna: Works fine.Extends/retracts from radio switch.
Spare Parts: New set of spark plugs, fuel filter, and rear shocks included.
