Please call Matt directly at 513-708-1468 with any questions about this car.Seven Hills Motorcars is tremendously proud to offer this absolutely stunning and original very low mileage numbers matching 1965 Cadillac DeVille Convertible. This Cadillac is in amazing original condition with only 58,990 original miles. The car looks beautiful, runs great, and drives awesome. This survivor Cadillac convertible is a time capsule and an investment grade classic. The car has great lines and is totally solid; one can even see how good the car is underneath in the many photos of the car on a lift. This is an excellent opportunity to own an exceptional DeVille convertible that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value.
We purchased this car from the family that bought it in 1966 and has owned it for over 53 years. It is incredibly hard to find a classic with this type of long ownership history. The previous owner stated that the car has been stored indoors its entire life. It has never been in any kind of accident, has never been painted, and has been lovingly cared for all these years. According to the previous owner the paint, interior, and top are all original. The previous owner also wrote a letter when he sold us the car, this is pictured in this ad, which verifies all these facts. The previous owner was an avid car collector and well known classic truck collector and restorer. We actually purchased four cars from him, an Eldorado convertible, a classic Lincoln, and a classic Mercedes convertible, as a package just to buy this car. Any car can be painted or restored, but cars are only original once and originally cannot be reproduced. The classic car market has been favoring originality over restored examples in recent times.
This Cadillac is finished in the beautiful, highly desirable, and exceptionally rare color combination of Ensign Blue (26) over Red Leather (388) with a White (1) soft-top so this is a Red, White, and Blue Cadillac. This is the factory original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. The very low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, that states the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information in this ad to get a true sense of clean, nice, and original this Cadillac convertible really is.
Besides the correct trim codes this DeVille is "Numbers Matching." The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine block, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car.
Throughout the entire Cadillac market right now, this is one of the nicest, most desirable, and most original Cadillac convertibles available. There is no way this car could be duplicated or restored with this level of quality for anything near our asking price. This DeVille looks great, runs awesome, and is particularly fun with the top down. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Cadillac that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as these classic Cadillac are appreciating fast and the market on them is red hot right now, especially for the convertible models. It would be almost impossible to find another 1965 Cadillac convertible with in this amazing color combination, let alone one with such low original mileage, in such excellent original condition, and with such great ownership history.
This DeVille comes with the original owner's manual, Owners Protection Plan booklet with the Protect-O-Plate, Convertible top booklet, and Cadillac accessory booklet and in the original Cadillac plastic pouch.
As a side note, this Cadillac is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the DeVille, just give us a call.
ExteriorThe Ensign Blue (26) exterior is in excellent original condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a great gloss, nice shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car exhibits excellent body panel fit overall with consistent gaps. The chrome and other bright work is in fantastic condition with a brilliant finish and no major pitting. The original convertible top looks very nice and still has the correct glass rear window, which is date coded and original. Also, the power top operates smooth, the complete operation of raising and lowering the top can be viewed in the video. The original hubcaps are in great condition with a nice finish. The Goodyear whitewall tires have plenty of tread left and are sized L78-15. Please note that these are older original style bias ply tires, which is noticeable out on the road. As one would expect from a paintjob with this many years on it there are a few tiny blemishes around car and some light checking that were too small to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car it is totally solid underneath. The car was undercoated decades ago and that has protected the car from rust over the years, and it was always stored indoors throughout its life. The floor pans are solid and all of the body panels and sheet metal are original. We have included specific photos of the lower quarter panels, rockers, frame, and other areas most prone to rust on this generation Cadillac to show how clean this car is.
Window Date Codes
Please note that ALL of the glass on this DeVille, the windshield, both door windows, both vent windows, both rear windows, and even the glass in the convertible soft-top, are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of the first week of June, 1965 (06A). Original glass is another great verification that this car has had no accident history and never sustained damage.
InteriorThe Red Leather (388) interior of the DeVille is in outstanding condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no excessive wear, holes, or split seams. The seats are not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The chrome and bright work on the inside of the car looks wonderful. The carpet is in also in great condition with no rips or holes. The original radio works and most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The power antenna works and goes up and down with a hand. The dash and console are in great shape with no fading or sun damage. The door panels are in excellent shape overall. This car has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all. This is one of the best original interiors we have ever seen in person in a classic Cadillac and is a true study of how these cars looked from the factory
Cadillac interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible model, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
The trunk is looks fantastic; the carpet and very fragile original cardboard are in amazing condition. It is also totally complete with the spare tire, jack, jack base, lug wench/jack handle, and bumper hook.
MechanicalThis Cadillac DeVille is in excellent mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. The car is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and floats down the highway. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment is clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, lighter, and even the trunk light still works. The indicators on top of both front fenders work as one can see in the video. All of the gauges work. The power seat works in some directions. The "Comfort Control" climate control system does not work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a beautiful day.
Overall ConditionOverall, this 1965 Cadillac DeVille convertible is in amazing original condition. This car is particularly rare and extra desirable with the extraordinary original condition, great ownership history, low mileage, numbers matching driveline, and the beautiful, remarkably rare, and stunning color combination. Low mileage and original examples of classic Cadillacs are hard to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. Numbers matching and originality is extremely important in classic car pricing and as one can see this car is very original and correct.
This Cadillac always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owner. The prices of Cadillac convertibles have increased drastically over the past years, especially for premium examples like this car. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, trim codes, options, photos, and video showing the car driving and all of the functions operating. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in classic car pricing and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare, other sellers are not taking the time to check engine numbers on a Cadillac or don't even know how to. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers, codes, and all information before he or she makes a purchase.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
