1967 Cadillac Other Additional Info:
Bought this one of a kind Caddy in fall of 2011 for $2750 in inoperable condition. Had brakes and transmission completely redone, car body sanded, repaired and painted burgundy (see video). Fixed one repair after another over the years, installed new carpet, spent in total between $9000 and $10,000 including original buying price. About two years ago I got the car to where anything that was iffy on it has been repaired. It is in perfect mechanical and driving condition aside from a small leak in the power steering pump. I add power steering fluid about once a week, and it does fine (even though you don't even really need power steering, of course). Never did anything cosmetic to the motor like painting or perfectly detailing various parts or components, but it has been running very reliably for more than 2 years. I have taken it out of town many hours and back with no problems. However, I wouldn't suggest driving it many hours out of town, because like any car from 1967, it is almost 50 years old! There is a car company I have used before that will ship it as far as the west coast for $800, and I have heard of companies shipping it for as little as $600. If you want to risk the drive it may drive many hours just fine. I will ship it for $800 above the winning bid, or you can arrange for your own company to pick it up and pay them independently.I believe there are less than 1000 of this rare 4-door 1967 Cadillac Calais on the road. Major attention getter. No matter what I do I can't help but to get compliments in it nearly every time I drive it. I really like this car, but can't afford to have many cars, and I am planning to move to the woods, where it can't drive the road. It has been lowered, was like that when I purchased the car from my good friend. The car is just as it appears in the pics and video. There is some slight body damage at the base of the front wheels' wheel well from turning the steering wheel too sharply, because it is lowered. I found this out after turning the steering too sharp into the wheel well for a few years. Aside from that, if the battery sits connected and car is idle for more than a week the battery starts to drain. So I disconnect the battery between driving it (only drive it once a week about). THe mileage may be the real mileage, but I can't say for sure. Gas gauge, odometer work fine. Air conditioning and heating are not working, but it is all there, just needs to be repaired. Front seat has wear and back seat a little wear, could be re-appaulstered. In mint condition, if you can get there, this Caddy is worth between $30,000-$40,000. I do not have the time, knowledge nor money to get this car into that type of shape. Like I said, in great mechanical running condition. Probably just needs cosmetics if you want to have this car perfect. Or, for someone looking for a really cool car for very cheap that is fairly reliable, this one is perfect.
