You are looking at a 1940 Cadillac Series 60 Special 4-Door Sedan. I received this car from an estate and was told their father was an old car hobbyist back in the 1960's & 70's. They further explained the car was bought as a parts car with no engine that was to be used for it's sidemount fendered front end on his convertible. Obviously he never got around to doing the changeover. This Cadillac is mostly complete with the exception of it's engine and 4 hubcaps. The car rolls & steers easily but obviously has no brakes. As you can see by my photos, all of the doors, hood & trunk open, close & latch and I even have the original keys for the car & sidemount covers. After receiving the car, we removed all of the deteriorated carpeting and fabric from the bottom's of the door panels so you can see the condition of the floorpan, interior, etc. The dashboard appears to be complete with the radio, turn signal assembly and the heater/defroster switch. As before mentioned, there is no engine, but when you look under the hood you will see that the car still retains it transmission, radiator, shutters, horns, etc, just the engine was removed. This 60 Special has the "Rare" Sidemount Front Fender Option. Both front fenders are in good restorable condition and are not damaged but do have some rust through at the bottom of the wheel wells. The Sidemount Covers are nice clean originals that still have all of their original hardware and even the key. Both covers are solid and only one has a dent. However both stainless steel trim moldings have numerous dings & dents. Please understand you are bidding to buy, not to be the first one to look. If you need to examine this Cadillac you are more than welcome and I recommend that you do so. I am not interested in any trades. If transportation is a problem or you just don't want to take the whole car, you can strip everything off that you want and leave the rest here. This 60 Special comes with a clean clear West Virginia Title last dated 1979 and has been stored inside a building since then. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!
