1988 Cadillac Allante Pininfarina

You are viewing a rather rare 1988 Cadillac Allante with the "Pininfarina" package. Not many of these were made in 1988. This Allante has only 105K original miles and was owned by a now older gentleman who is now too old to drive. He traded the car in on a Rav 4 SUV for his family. I was asked by the dealer to drive this car and give my opinion as to overall condition and value as I have owned many of these types of cars over my 72 years. I am also listing this car under my Ebay account for the dealer. They do not have an account. Please feel comfortable that it will be listed honestly as I see it.

The engine is a 4.1 V8 that runs STRONG - with no smoke - no noises - runs smooth and proper. The trans is a 4 speed overdrive that performs well without noise, etc., but I do detect a thump in the downshift back from 4th to 3rd. I do not see this as any kind of services problem. As for condition of exterior - I would rate the body and paint as an honest 8.5 to a 9. The body shows no signs of previous damage and there is zero rust anywhere. The paint has a nice shine. It does have 3 or 4 very small depressions that will remove with paintless removal. Easy fix. There are several small just little scratches that have been touched up. The only real flaws are shown in the pictures. One being a small rear bumper trim flaw and the only other are hardtop rubber trim flaws. That's it - period. The interior - all red leather - is original and I would rate the condition as a solid 8.5. The seats are very good with the exception of a small wear through in the leather on the driver seat back bolster. The plastic on both seat belts is broken & gone. Center AC diffuser in dash is missing. Picture shows all of this.
There is a problem with the radio and AC controls. The radio will power up but will not work. The AC has newer compressor and does cool, but will not control temp. Other than that - Overall - Interior - dash - power windows - Seats - Carpet - Door panels - All excellent.

The car includes owner's manuals - complete service manual - Hard & soft top complete with hard top stand and a second set of alloy wheels. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better - very fairly priced Allante. Especially with the "Pininfarina" Package. There are no other secrets with this car.
