1960 Cadillac Fleetwood Additional Info:
1960 Cadillac Fleetwood Eureka Hearse limousine style
Very rare. Hard to find a hearse with these beautiful fins.I have owned this hearse since 1999. I have enjoyed taking it to drive inns, local car shows and cruises and of course around on Halloween. This vehicle is a huge hit. I haven't done much to this vehicle since I have owned it. It has been stored inside the majority of the time since I bought it. It was parked outside in the fall for Halloween parties for decoration. I have a clean title in my name.
All the glass is in good shape. The windshield is in good shape as well.
When I first bought the car, I used to take it on the freeway and road trips. As the years progressed I mostly used it for local car show and Halloween parties. In the last couple of years, I'd get it out of storage and use it for Halloween. If you plan on driving it any distance other than onto the trailer or car hauler these things will need to be addressed below.
The engine runs strong, it does puff some smoke but what old car doesn't. It has an electronic fuel pump installed that helps with the cold starts. If it sits for a long period of time it may need some starting fluid to help it start up. An aluminum radiator was install a few years ago that helps it run cool. The transmission does not shift into reverse. Forward gears seem to work fine but I haven't driven it very far in the last few years. The shift linkage can get bound up on the throttle linkage but can be unstuck by wiggling the shift lever. The miles shows 78,573 but the odometer and speedometer haven't worked since I owned it. The brakes are soft as well. It will slow the car but it will not stop the car on a dime.
The interior had been redone when I purchased it and it does show its age. The dash was covered in vinyl but is coming unglued around the defrost vents. The rear floor tray behind the drivers seat has been removed and a rear facing seat has been installed. The cloth on the rear seat is just draped over the seat foam. The headliner in the rear is nice. The carpet in the rear was laid over the original floor. I do have the rollers and some of the other hardware that comes with the car. Front original rubber floor is present but does show its age. The right hand rear curved window is missing some window trim on the inside. Electrical/lights etc. will need some attention. I never ran the heater, so I don't think it works. The window are all manual operation. The passenger vent window is stuck open.
The body has that great patina look. I have left the paint and body as is because I have loved the look of it. The drivers door rubs on the fender when opened but I have liked the creaky sound it makes when opened. It goes along with the look and feel of the car. The chrome on this car looks to have never been redone and is all there except for the eye brows above the head light but those are available online. The bumpers are solid and are presentable with no rust holes in them. The rear of this car is wider than the standard Cadillac of the same year and has bumper extensions that are there to widen the rear bumper. The right side rocker chrome has come loose and is set on the car for pictures but will be removed and in the rear compartment. It looks to me that the hood and front fenders were replaced at one time. The right side of the car was partially primed before I owned it. The rest of the car looks like original paint to me but I am not one hundred percent sure. The panels seem pretty straight. The left front fender has a dent above the headlight. The roof in the back at one time probably had a vent installed but it was covered back up. I haven't seen it leak in all the years I've owned it. Now lets talk about rust. This vehicle does have rust. The lower rockers on both side have significant rust. A good portion of the rocker rust is covered by the lower side rocker chrome. There is also rust in the rear hatch door, you can see it in the pictures. Also, the top has rust around the drip rail in areas. The floor boards are there but with the condition of the rust on the car, I won't be surprised to find rust in them.
The tires are miss matched and the three hubcaps are off a later Cadillac. It does have both fender skirts. The passenger side is off a different car but has the correct trim.
If your plans were to build a perfect car, this probably isn't the best candidate for a frame off, one hundred point restoration. This is a fun car to use for local shows, Halloween party's, etc. I have been as thorough about the condition as possible. But it is an old car with many parts that I'm sure forgotten or haven't paid attention too. If you have any other questions email me. If you would like to talk to on the phone, email me and I will send you my phone number.
