Whether you prefer the Bruce Springsteen version or Natalie Cole’s, they sing about the same car, a pink Cadillac. You might hear that song run through your head as you look at the 1957 Cadillac Deluxe Coupe de Ville here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars. This awesome Coupe de Ville is straight and solid as they come from sunny Arizona!

This car is stunning. Finished in Alpine White over Mountain Laurel Pink (code 46-12), the paint and trim are outstanding order. The car’s windows are clear and intact while its lights are crack-free and look showroom new. The car’s bodywork, complete with tailfins, is straight and solid, the engine bay is very tidy, the cargo area is in original order and has a full-size wide whitewall tire, the battery looks newer and the imposing Dagmar front and rear bumper look fantastic.

The car rolls on BFGoodrich wide whitewall radials surrounding factory wheel covers. The tires and wheels are in comparable condition to the rest of the exterior.

Under the hood is a 365 CID V-8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor and breathing through dual exhausts. It is mated to a Hydramatic four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.07:1 rear end. Driver convenience features include power steering, power brakes, power windows (code X), air-conditioning (code K), heater (code H), E-Z Eye Glass (code E), tilt seat adjuster (code Y), six-way power front seat (code V) and remote-control trunk lock (code S).

Inside, this righteous Caddy sports a black and silver Corinthian Pattern cloth and pink interior. The front and rear benches are in excellent shape, complete with pull-down center armrests. The front bench is powered, with six-ways for the driver to get comfy behind the wheel. The black carpeting provides a great contrast to the seats, as does the light-colored headliner. Both the carpet and headliner look fantastic. There’s a two-spoke steering wheel facing the driver and it looks great. The inner door panels and instrument panel continue the interior’s overall tri-color scheme. The wipers are inoperable. Completing the interior is a factory AM radio.

For 1957, a tubular X-frame without side rails was adopted. This resulted in a lower body without a loss of usable space. Front end styling was marked by rubber bumper guard tips and dual circular lamps set into the lower bumper section. Side trim was revised and a dual taillight theme was used. Identifying the standard 62 models were bright metal moldings, just forward of the rear wheel openings, highlighted by seven horizontal wind slits. At the upper end this fender brake trim joined a horizontal molding that ran along a conical flare extending towards both taillamps. A crest medallion was seen on the forward angled rear fins. De Villes had special nameplates on the front fenders. The rear fender and deck contour was trimmed with broad, sculptured stainless steel beauty panels. Also seen were “shark fin” style fins pointing towards the back of the cars.

Competition to this Cadillac in 1957 included Chrysler’s New Yorker, Hudson’s Hornet Super Hollywood Hardtop, Imperial’s Crown Coupe, Lincoln’s Premiere Coupe and Continental Mark II and Nash’s Ambassador Super Country Club Hardtop.
