1960 Cadillac Series 62 Two Door hardtop.
A solid car from Nevada, with very little rust. It currently sports a classic rat rod style but has much room for improvement, depending on which way you want to go with the car.
The engine is a freshly rebuilt 390 that runs perfect on a cold start but tends to develop vapor lock after 15 miles or so. So the fuel line is going to need to be re-routed or insulated or something.
The transmission is the original and was rebuilt 1,500 miles ago, but that was also nearly 20 years ago, so the front & rear seals were just replaced. It no longer leaks and functions like it should.
The Power brakes are the original design. I recently installed a new master cylinder and brake hoses so you can drive it but it doesn't stop evenly. If you slam on the brakes you'll steer all over the road. I was going to install front disc, but just haven't got around to it yet.
I just had a new windshield installed, total freight, parts, labor & tax was nearly 1,200 bucks.
So, mechanically... it's just about complete w/ exception to upgrading the brakes & suspension.
The power windows work most of the time, but they're moody. The rest of the dash gauges need going through. The speedo & radio don't work.
Any direction you decide to go w/ this car it's an easy start. Personally, I would install disc brakes, air ride & new wheels &tires and cruise it as is looking just how it does now, but if you wanted to do a full on restoration it's a good start b/c it's a complete & solid car with most of the expensive mechanical work already done.
This is my favorite car ever. I've always wanted one and had great intentions with it, but unfortunately I have too many other unfinished projects going on right now, so I'm putting this up for grabs. I am a car dealer and this car is part of my dealership inventory even though I really got it for myself, so I have to sell it through the dealership, so all of that legal process will have to be followed ( a pile of paper work ). I'm putting some of my other projects up for sale too, so if they sell first, I'm keeping this one.
Disclaimer.... This is a Series 62... eBay didn't have a category for it, they only had DeVille, but it's not the Coupe DeVille it's a Series 62, which to my knowledge is just a slight difference in the piece of trim that runs down the body line. ALSO... The title is a clean NC title registered to my dealership, the title says nothing about the car being salvage or reconstructed, but the NC DMV put a little sticker on the door jamb that says its a reconstructed vehicle. I don't know why, but it's against the law for me to remove it. I'm just calling this to your attention b/c I don't want you to get here and make a big deal out of it. Furthermore.... This car is Very OLD. Aside from up & down the street locally, it's not been driven much in the past 16 years... so please bring a trailer. I seriously don't think this car is ready for a cross country road trip. This sweet ride has been brought to you by Dixie Trading Company, 6592 Caratoke Hwy, Grandy NC 27939 NC Dlr # 0075857
About the price... I've had it advertised locally for 15,900 ... I'll cut straight to the no haggle zone.... It's 15,000 out the door... no BS Processing fees, and I'm not going to go to DMV for you... gimmie 15k and I'll hand you the title & supporting documents. The price is 15k take it or leave it. Not trying to be a jerk, butI really like this car and if you want it you're going to have to like it more than I do.
