1941 Cadillac Other 60 Special Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1940 Cadillac 60 Special that is a beautiful full classic. The last year that Cadillac offered side mount spares ... and this car has them !!! It's starts and runs and is a wonderful driver. The engine shows well and there are no problems under the hood that we are aware of!. It has the original 6 Volt system with a positive ground. A battery disconnect switch has been installed on the firewall (accessible from the inside passenger side firewall). The transmission shifts smoothly, car steers well, beautiful wide whites with plenty of tread but are older, original hub caps with accenting Cadillac emblem. The Fleetwood body was repainted some years ago in the original colors of Evergreen Metallic (lower) and ChicoryGreen (upper & wheels) . The car shows well and the paint has few imperfections. The interior is nicely done and does show slight signs of minimal wear. Headliner is intact and looks good, interior dome light is not working bulb?. Dashboard and steering wheel are nice. All gauges work except for the temperature gauge. The brakes have just been rebuilt, and front shoes replaced -( I was told the rear shoes did not need to be so I am including them in box with the car). the car stops well. The Trippe Fog Lights are currently not working, mirrors on the side mount spares have the Cadillac insigniaon the back. Still has the original jack. The glass is okay, the windshield (drivers side) has two small rock pits but appear stable, and the passenger side a slight crack in the upper corner of about 1" in length. The car has had an easy life in El Paso Texas - only in Conn. for 3 months. Has Gas Rationing Sticker still on back window !! (see pic). Extras included with the car include a Operating Hints for the 1940 Cadillac Manual, extra radio grille, and 1 rear glass lens as they have hairlines but reinforced. The licence plate and Worlds Fair topper is included with car. Car was running until battery trickle was disconnected due to storm and was unaware it shut off. This is a great example of a classic and a head turner wherever she goes !!!!!Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding - I am not a dealer or mechanic but will attempt to answer them the best I can.
