1961 Cadillac Other Additional Info:
When is the last time you saw one of these classy Caddy convertibles for sale? There were 15,500 made in 1961, and I've never seen one with this color combination. I have no idea how many are still on the road, but I venture to say, not many. A car just like this appeared in a 1961 movie staring Paul Newman, "Sweet Bird of Youth" The film was black and white so I don't know what the color was. I don't see many in any color.
This car has undergone a complete restoration over the past year. The original color, Lexington Green, a light mist green was meticulously applied in three coats on a laser straight body. The factory air was converted to R-143 standards and all air conditioning components were replaced with new or rebuilt parts, including hoses, and gaskets.
Any part needing re-chroming was done on the exterior. The exhaust system is fitted with flow through mufflers, and repaired as needed. The transmission shifts smoothly and operates as it should with no fluid leaks at all. The engine starts and runs as new with no noises or leaks at all. All the power windows including the power vent windows operate swiftly and as new.
There are some minor electrical issues that should be corrected to bring the car to 100%. The windshield wiper motor, the power trunk lid pull down motor, the power antenna motor, and the 6 way power seat gears, all need replacing. Parts and labor, about $2,500 total. I am currently working on these items and whatever is not done can be deducted from the final bid price.
