1948 Buick Roadmaster Additional Info:

What I have up for sale is a very clean, restored 1948 Buick Roadmaster 76S Sedanette w/dual Stromberg Aero carburetors and 3 speed Syncromesh transmission matted to a 320 inline 8-cylinder engine. Car includes both dash and floor heaters, AM radio (working), turn signals, reverse lights and adjustable manual radio antenna. This beautiful fastback sedan was the brainchild of GMs Harley Earl who continued the streamline design of postwar America into the 1950s before the fin craze captured the world's attention.
The 320ci inline 8-cylinder engine starts up well and runs smoothly and is rated for 160 HP with the dual carbs. The dual carb setup is very rare and only available on the 1941-1942 models but could be adapted to the newer models easily. Still currently a 6 volt system. She has fresh NOS AC spark plugs as well as ignition wires. The point system was replaced with a Pertronix system which adds reliability. The Syncromesh transmission shifts into all three gears including reverse well and she'll cruise effortlessly at 70 MPH down the freeway. The floor accelerator start feature was replaced with a push button start for reliability, however the starter solenoid on the first carb remains and appears to be in good condition. The wiring appears to be a factory correct replacement and includes leads for fog lights if you choose to add that accessory.
Cosmetically I'd place her at an 8.5 out of 10. She has been repainted within the last 20 years or so in the correct color of Cumulus Gray and Nickel Gray. The paint has a brilliant luster, but there is a small paint chip or two on the lower front fenders. There are no signs of rust, rot, cancer, bondo, etc. The interior was redone in the correct material; however, the restorer added a little custom touch with the red edges to the carpet mats. Trunk is fully lined with similar material and presents nicely.
Undercarriage is clean and shows appropriate mileage. Previous restorer added a dual exhaust with NOS Blue Streak mufflers which are not available anymore. Has a very healthy rumble without being loud and obnoxious. Looks very much like a factory car with a slightly upgraded heart.
If you're looking for a clean Postwar era 40s Buick with a little extra soul that'll take you to your next show in style, this is your gal!
Any buyer is responsible for payment no later than 12 days from the end of the auction. A refundable deposit of 500 dollars is required to secure the sale 48 hours after the end of the auction. Final amount must be paid through certified cashiers check or similar method through a known banking institution. Buyer is responsible for transportation/pickup, however, I do have a company I can recommend which has handled my other cars before and did it quite well. Please ask all questions prior to purchasing as all sales are final. I am a collector not a dealer and would very much like to see this go to another collector who enjoyed her as much as I did. Reasonable offers considered but this is by far one of the cleanest 48 Sedanettes I've seen yet. Thank you and good luck!
