BUICK REGAL

The 1977 Buick Regal was a mid-size personal luxury coupe that embodied the comfort, style, and soft performance typical of the era. Part of GM's A-body platform, the 1977 model marked the final year before a major downsizing in 1978, making it one of the last "big" Regals of the first generation.

In essence, the '77 Regal was a bridge between Buick's traditional full-size luxury and the leaner, more modern sensibilities of the late 20th century.

The 1977 Regal sat in a sweet spot between full-size luxury and sportier muscle coupes of the past. It was Buick's answer to the growing personal luxury market dominated by cars like the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Ford Thunderbird. The Regal emphasized quietness, ride quality, and conservative elegance over outright speed or performance flash.

As one of the last large Regals, it represents a transitional point between traditional American land yachts and more efficient, performance-minded coupes of the next decade.

This 1977 Buick Regal is finished in white over black patterned cloth upholstery, and it is powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a black vinyl landau roof, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 15″ rally-style wheels, air conditioning, power windows and locks, an analog clock, and a factory AM/FM radio.
The car was repainted in the original white color in 2023 using PPG paint and three coats of PPG clear. Exterior details include a black vinyl Landau roof, a hood ornament, quad headlights, chrome bumpers, rubber bumper guards, bright rocker moldings, and dual side sport mirrors with remote adjustment on the driver side.
The 15″ rally-style wheels are mounted with 215/70 Vogue Tyre Custom Built Radial VIII gold and whitewall tires. The car has power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front bench and rear bench seats are upholstered in patterned black cloth upholstery joined by a color-coordinated carpets and rubber floor mats. Woodgrain trim lines the dashboard and door panels and amenities include power windows and locks as well as a tilt steering wheel, a rear-window defogger, an AM/FM stereo, and air conditioning.

The two spoke steering wheel frames a clock, an 85-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an economy indicator. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately96k miles

The window sticker is present and included with sale, and lists additional upgrade features totaling almost 30% of the car’s MSRP value. They are as follows:
