For your consideration this 1955 Buick Roadmaster in pristine condition. The 1955 Roadmaster is the Grand Dame of mid-century automotive style and was one of Harley Earle’s iconic designs.
This 55 Roadmaster Sedan is a gorgeous car, inside and out, with only 44,000 believed to be original miles.I had the engine pulled when I purchased the car and the mechanic replaced all the seals and gaskets. His Opinionwas that the mileage was genuine as the engine had not been rebuilt. She always turns heads andexpect to spend extra time at the gas station visiting with people who love this car.
The exterior is finished in the correct Titian Red Metallic over Cameo Beige, with original paint still in the door jambs. All the panels are straight with good gaps. The frame and body are solid and rust free. The bumpers and chrome are in good condition (not show quality with some light pitting) and a small dent in the rear bumper.
The interior is striking in its correct two-tone Kelly Green and Glacier white upholstery, with the seats upholstered in a tulip leaf brocade. The interior is completely original with the exception of the front seat which has been recovered incorrect NOS material and the carpet has been replaced. Headliner and door panels are original and in excellent condition.
Under the hood is the original 322 cubic inch “Nail-Head” V8 mated to the original DynaFlow automatic transmission. She has the original accelerator pedal starter and cranks on the first try, runs great with no smoking whatsoever. She cruises down the highway at 70 MPH with no issues and does not overheat.
This Roadmaster comes completely loaded with power: windows, seats, brakes, and steering. The original Sonomatic Radio has been rebuilt with a solid-state interior and is now AM/FM with an MP3 connection. It retains the original face plate but operates like a modern sound system. Even the clock works as it has been rebuilt.
Includes the original owner’s manual, the factory service card with the original owner’s name, all the original hang tags, and the 1955 Buick instruction booklet. It even has the original passenger visor mirror inscribed “Buick is a beauty too.” I think you will agree.
Some of the things that I have done are: pulling the engine completely installing new gaskets and seals, repainting and detailing the engine bay. New shocks and radial wide whitewall tires. I just had the transmission pump replaced, but there is still a small leak. All new hoses, new hood liner, solid-statetar top look battery, new exhaust system, power steering pump rebuilt and vacuum windshield wiper motor rebuilt, the wipers work but if you are familiar with the old vacuum pumps not well, (I have an electric motor that can be used to replace the vacuum unit but I never drove it in the rain so was not too concerned), electronic ignition and the trunk has new carpet and liner. The engine has a slight oil leak from the rear main (I think), but not enough to justify pulling the engine. I have receipts for over $17,000.00 of work.
Vehicle is sold as is with no warranties expressed of implied.
