1983 Buick Riviera Convertible Additional Info:
Rare, interesting, complete, luxurious, and affordable... bet you didn't think you could get that all in one vintage convertible. But this 1983 Buick Riviera convertible has a V8 for great cruising and a rarity that will make everyone take notice.
Buick wasn't in the soft top game in 1983. Only a few rich people were willing to pay nearly double the Riviera coupe's price that it took to pluck a car off the assembly line and let the professionals at ASC do their custom soft top magic. But the few who did this ended up with a convertible that was like owning a fully custom car backed by a factory warranty. There were less than 1,700 examples of the 1983 convertibles built with the desirable V8 engine, which makes this one a rare piece of expensive history. That's why this special Buick has been cared for correctly. The white paint has a good gloss, and the full-length burgundy pinstripe highlights how straight the sheet metal really is. That distinctly-colored pinstripe also goes nicely with the new full burgundy soft top (after all the roof is so special, it should be showcased correctly.) The care is also in the details such as an investment in re-chroming the bumpers, the windshield is new, and it even still has the original wire wheel covers with special center insignia.
In the same way the burgundy top looks great against the body, so does the burgundy leather interior. The car has been driven and enjoyed over the years, but you still get a nice luxurious feeling from the plush carpet, plenty of wood-like trim, and a lot of premium features. This is loaded with power front seats, power windows, tilt wheel, cruise control, the Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a power convertible top. You have the cool digital dash layout and even the air conditioning controls are 1980s retro-future cool (it will need servicing before blowing cold again.)
Under the hood is the optional 307 cubic inch V8. It looks so honest that we believe the mileage is correct, and the consignor states the powerplant is original to this car. The V8 motor was a valuable piece to give the Riviera the right kind of torque to move it around with authority. This one was even recently given a tune-up that includes new plugs and fresh fluids. It makes for a strong and smooth classic. You also have great all-around driving features like the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and a fully independent suspension.
Distinct, loaded, and built to drive - a Riviera convertible like this is rolling distinction that will always have a story to tell. In fact, the only tale you might not share is how little you paid. Call now!
