1986 Buick Grand National Additional Info:

You are viewing my 1986 Grand National I have owned since 2010. In 2010 I had the transmission rebuilt and the car painted. Any metal issues were were correctly repaired and replaced. The carfax will show an accident before I owned it. The frame was slightly off and during restoration to frame was pulled about an inch to correct from the accident it was in. During restoration a new 9 hole hood insulation NOS was purchased. New weather stripping, new NOS dash and New NOS 86 Grille. The bumper fillers were replaced with fiberglass(mistake as there is a light rub on the rear driver and small on front due to normal travel. The paint on the GN is amazing and has won many shows. There are a few marks consistent with a 10 year 500-600 miles per year driven car. In my time its only seen rain once. I drove it this weekend and it drives as it should. The transmission was rebuilt with a shift kid and is mild but felt. The radio is an original AC delco sent in to have an apod adapter
Mechanically I have had to replace coil pack, TPS, cam sensor, plugs, wires, brake booster, new TE44 turbo, turbo tweak chip 93. Some chrome accents in the engine. 60lb injectors added in case I wanted Alky. Exhaust is very nice with a removable plate at down pipe for extra sound. Tires are 2010 and ave approximately 7500 miles on them. ALL mechanical repairs and tuning done by the well known Bruce at Aggressive Auto performance.
Interior is in nice shape. There will be some color fade but no rips/tears in carpet or seats. The dash pad needs a couple screws put into it to hold it down. The steering wheel is a new refurbished and the dash and radio bezels are NOS in 2010. The cover to the wiring under the driver side hangs a little low. The DOORS are from another Turbo Regal. My original doors had rust and these were perfect, but it does have the Turbo regal style door pads and cranks windows/not electric. The head liner and sun visors were replaced before I purchased. and are a cheaper upgrade that traditional GN headliners.
The issues:
  • It has a small oil leak from the rear main seal. Aggressive said is was not major and recommended no emergent need to repair. Its about a dime size every few days.
  • The air conditioning does not blow cold. Aggressive said it was the plug and a leak in the lines. I drive with windows down and did not repair. I do have a set of working lines that will come with the sale.
  • The car comes with a scan master. 2.1 I believe. No codes. It does show a KR of 1.2, That was just yesterday and the first time I ever seen more than 0.
  • One speaker in the front and on in the back is not playing right now. I have not taken apart to see if simple.
  • There are no seat belt guides attached. They will be included.
  • The 3.8 turbo emblem for the dash is included. I didnt have the heart to drill holes in the NOS dash.
  • Some light bulbs are our on the digital dash.
  • The trunk lock is not turning with the key. Opens with the switch in glove box. New key lock with key comes with car.
  • The glove box does not have the string piece to hold it from going all the way down. I have ordered that piece and it will come with the car.
  • THERE CAR COMES WITH SOME RECEIPTS AND A TON OF PHOTOS FROM THE RESTORATION AT DIFFERENT STAGES TO SHOW CORRECTLY DONE.
FOR SALE LOCALLY AND MAY END AUCTION EARLY. NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAR INSPECTED OR SEEN IN PERSON BEFORE BIDDING. I HAVE SAID EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT THE IMPERFECTIONS AND NICENESS OF THIS CAR.
