Buick was often overlooked as an underrated powerhouse in the performance age of the muscle car era. With dominance throughout the GM coming from Pontiac and Chevrolet, Buick was hardly going to be left out of the excitement of... delivering horsepower packed vehicles to hungry buyers! The sports car market was well attended to with Chevrolets Corvette, so most auto manufacturers turned their attention to the mid-size 2-door hardtop and convertible platform as the premiere platform to attact showroom buyers. By 1965, following the GTO, Buick launched the Gran Sport with small block engine choices, but quickly adapted newer, larger displacement V8s by 1968 with the 10.25:1 compression 400ci V8 (6.6L) which proved to be a solid pavement pounder delivering 340 horsepower and 440 lb. ft. of torque! A monster performance machine that could easily give any competitor a run for its money, literally! Buick used a special 1st gear ratio in their Super Turbine 400 automatic transmissions to ensure your off the line quickness would gain you the advantage and earn you some serious street credit! Offered here is a 1969 Buick GS400 Hardtop Coupe finished in factory code correct 55B- Turquoise Mist Poly with Black vinyl top and matching code 188- Black vinyl bucket seat interior! its original 400ci V8 Ram Air engine and Super Turbine 400 automatic transmission, this beautiful kept example has been wonderfully restored with originality in mind!
