1971 Buick Riviera Additional Info:

This was an estate car from Minnesota where it was stored for 15 years. I purchased it and hauled it home to Pennsylvania. I did nothing to the car - the photos were taken when it arrived in PA but show exactly how the car looked when it was picked up. Prior to it being picked up, the family of the estate wiped 15 years of dust off it.
Car has not been started or driven but the motor turns by hand (not seized up).Car is complete and frame is solid.
I am not a mechanic but it is clear that the car does need work: floor pans are rusted (see photo). Brake and fuel lines need to be replaced. Exhaust needs repair or replacement. Other components may need to be repaired or replaced as well.Interior is in very good condition (dash, seats, door panels - see photos) but the headliner needs to be replaced.Vinyl top (black) is in very good condition with no rips or tears.
Odometer shows 21,647 miles. Can't say for sure if it turned over or not, but the condition of interior makes me think this could be original mileage. Car has been painted in the past. Original color was gold. Body has some surface rust in spots, with some paint chipping/bubbling, but appears solid overall. I'd say the paint job is driver quality.Black pinstripe was applied on passenger side only, which can be easily removed.
I have the windshield trim that you can see is missing in photos, a '71 Riviera shop manual, the owners manual, and I also have 4 original 1971 turbine-syle Riviera hub caps (see photo). They all go with the car.Car has 4 new white wall tires (they were mounted after photos were taken) and a new battery. Clear Minnesota title.
I think the starting price (with no reserve) is very reasonable considering both the work needed on the car and the desirabilityof the early 70's Boat Tail Rivieras. The value of these Riveiras have been skyrocketing lately, especially 1971, the first year - check for yourself on Hagerty blogs or recent sales.
This is a relatively inexpensive way to get started on a desirable project car that could be worth a significant amount with some investment and effort.
If you are local to me (I’m located about 40 minutes south of Lancaster, PA), you are more than welcome to come see the car in person (BEFORE you bid/offer/buy, please). I do reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell the car locally.
I would be happy to help ship this car anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense (I sold one classic car here on eBay to a nice gentleman in Austria). I know how much these cars are loved outside the U.S., but in all cases funds must clear my bank before I will let the car leave my possession.Car of course will need to be hauled or towed.
The car is sold as-is with no warranty or guarantee or return.
$500 Paypal deposit due upon winning bid, balance due (cash, wire, or certified funds) within 7 days. The car will not leave my possession until funds clear.
If you plan to buy or make an offer on the car, please have your money available and in order beforehand. No trades please. Any inspections must be done before sale, not afterwards.
THE VEHICLE IS SOLD AS-IS WHERE-IS AND WITH ALL FAULTS.
ALL shipping costs and arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
