Vehicle Overview
1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL GNX #242,1 OWNER,TOTALLY STOCK & ORIGINAL
Up for sale is a 1987 Buick Grand National GNX #242. This car was purchased new at Stephens Buick in Dallas, Texas and has been in the same town until now. The owner bought this car when he was in his 60's a year after he bought a 1986 Grand National and he loved it so much that he bought this GNX from the same dealer and drove this car 42k miles and the 1986 only has 10K miles on it and I have that car up for sale as well. Before the original owner passed away in the early 2000's, he sold both Grand Nationals to a friend of his. The friend drove them to his warehouse, parked them in the corner and they never moved again until now. The friend who was now 90 years old recently passed away himself and this is the first time that either car has ever been offered for sale!!!
First and foremost I am a long term GNX owner myself and still have it sitting in my garage. I know these cars very, very well and this is an outstanding example of a stock driver quality car that can be driven and enjoyed. The paint and body show very well and the accident free car has been repainted one time. I confirmed this with a digital paint gauge. At the very worst this car has a few very minor chips from normal driving but does not take away from the excellent overall great looks.
Mechanically the car is 100% stock and unmodified. The only item replaced was the cat back exhaust but appears to be more of a maintenance repair then a high performance upgrade. I just went thru the car from front to back and currently needs nothing. I replaced all 4 tires, cleaned and flowed the injectors, replaced the fuel filter, coil pack, ignition module, changed the oil, converted the AC to 134A and it blows ice cold. The interior of the car shows great and everything works as it should.
If you are looking for a good investment gradeGNX that can be driven and enjoyed then look no further. This is a nice clean, unmolested example that spent its whole life in a garage in Dallas, TX so no rust issues on this car.
