1971 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible(Relisting due to out of the Country Bidder)
If you have been always wanted a GS Stage 1 Convertible, butdon't want to spend 100k plus, this is the next best thing. This is a very nicely done recreation of a Stage 1.
This started life as a Buick Skylark, that the original owner purchased after he wrecked his GS 455 in 1973.
The car has adyno tuned 482hp 71 Stage 1 headed 455 in it. The motor has maybe 4000 miles on it, correct Stage 1 Valve Covers, ect. This is a pretty accurate Stage 1 Recreation, even was a OW tag on the transmission, has a 3.55 Eaton Posi rear end, front and rear sway bars, amazing SSexhaust, aluminum radiator, ect.
Excellent interior, even has the original 8 track still in it. No rips, tears, ect.
The car itself is a older albeit well held up restorationwith a recent mechanical restoration. The car shows very well, everything works the way it should, sheetmetal is rock solid and the car runs great. It is a tilt wheel A/C car, the compressor and a fewcomponents are currently off the car, but I believe I have most, if not all of them.
The history on this car is a man from Texas purchased this car in 1985 as a beautiful 1 owner Skylark Convertible and had it converted with his 1971 Buick GS Stage 1 that he wrecked over a decade earlier, and in essence, created everything a Stage 1 should be.
This owner passed away in the early 2000's and his wife sold the car for HUGE money to a unsuspecting buyer who thought the car was a REAL DEAL Stage 1 because of all the real GM parts on it. Apparently hewasn't big on looking at the VIN and that shows the car was originally a Skylark.
He lost his butt on the car, sold it to another gentleman who spent a lot of money on the car to make it the street screamer it is today!
I bought the car because it is just a amazing driver. It will scare you with its looks, sound, and performance.
The car shows well and drives even better. It is a great driver, I'm a Pontiac guy myself but had to have it.
My hobbies have changed and I am selling this car off as well as the rest of my collection.
Now, that was the ad when I purchased the vehicle... The car is a nice solid driver, a little more horsepower then I am use to, I am 51 and do not drive fast. The car does have some flaws that I am going to list. The shifter cable needs a slight adjustment, you have to put in nuetral to start once in a while because it does not go all the way in park, cable related. The rear bumper is faded, I would rate it 6 out of 10, the paint has chips that I have pointed out in pictures, the dash has a nice very fine line crack that I point out in pictures, the inside door handle does not open the door, so they need to be adjusted, the driver door is a little off when you close it, the top is original and has 2 tears in the common spots on these convertibles. It is a nice, great running car with a very solid floors and trunk... I am only selling to buy a buddy cutlass that just became availble. Any questions ask.. I will try to post the 2 videos the last owner had posted..
