1955 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Additional Info:
Up for sale is a "survivor" 1955 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Hardtop Model 76R. I purchased this car back in 1989 from the son of the original owner, it's been a California car for all of it's 61 years. When I purchased the car, I was a member of the Buick Club of America as was the seller It has never been modified or altered and sits as a living survivor of the way it was built in Flint Michigan in the Fall of 1955. Back in 89', I had the vision of eventually doing a frame-off restoration as EVERYTHING was there and untouched. The stainless trim is immaculate and the chrome is very good with no rust. The tail light housings are showing some signs of minor pitting but such is the fate of anything made of pot metal in time. Sometime prior to my purchase it was repainted to a different scheme than the trim code and what can I say about a 30+ year old paint job, it is what it is. For the past 12 years it's been covered in my garage. In 1992, reverse failed and I was looking at a $3K bill for a rebuild. A fellow BCA member had just had a catastrophic home fire and lost his 76R in that blaze. I purchased the Dynaflow from it as a replacement but never installed it. The winning bidder will receive this transmission included in the price...that's a $3K freebe that goes with the car. That was the price 14 years ago, imagine today? This past Buyer assumes all responsibility for pick-up in Brentwood or more distant transport. There IS a Reserve price that's very fair considering the extra transmission and a few misc hard to find parts. I'd like a $500 deposit from the winning bidder with 48 hrs of closing to my PayPal and the balance within 7 business days of the close. I might add that the interior is beautiful leather/cloth in great shape with no wear, tears or rips...needs no work at all. The headliner has some condensation staining at a couple of points but is solid and well fit with all stainless cross ribs in place. If you need additional photos of a specific are or have questions, just send me a message and I'll do my best. You're gonna love this car!
