Here we have an all original (paint, interior, drivetrain, tires) 1987 Buick Grand National Ttop car with 16,000 unmolested miles. This car was bought new December 14, 1987 from Cal Wible Buick in Medina Ohio. It remained in the same family for nearly 30 years. It was never raced, driven in bad weather or mistreated, just lovingly cared for by its only owner. He did add a bank of gauges to the right side of the dash and replaced the exhaust with true dual mufflers which sounds very good. The interior looks and smells like new. The trunk is spotless with the spare/jack never removed and Ttop covers still laying on the floor. The original paint is amazing as well as all glass, weather stripping and trim. The only thing that does not work is the power antenna which was a common problem back then. The tires being original have some flat spots to them but are still in great condition with plenty of tread and no dry rot cracks. Sitting for many years and not being driven created some safety concerns for me when I bought it this summer. The brakes and fuel system were my top priority so I took the car to a local Buick GN specialist and he performed the following repairs:
We installed a brand new powermaster brake unit from Kirban Performance, with the fuel system we opted to upgrade the pump to an XP unit, changed the 30 year old stock injectors out for 42# units with matching chip. Replaced the plugs, belt, fluids, made the necessary repairs converted the a/c over to 134a and had the car blowing out ice cold temps of 46 degrees.
We installed new Spoolfool bumper fillers front and back. New valve cover gaskets. Complete detail and wax.
My wife and I have found some land in Tennessee that we want to purchase for retirement in a few years. That means the GN and one other collector car has to go. I hate to let the GN go because this is one of the cleanest, most original, great history, unmolested cars that I have ever owned. With a new set of tires this car will bring many years of exciting driving.
I have set a reasonable reserve for a quick sale but the auction will run to the end so if you want it, Bid. Transportation costs will be the responsibility of the new owner. Please let me know if you have any questions and Good Luck.We installed a brand new powermaster brake unit from Kirban Performance, with the fuel system we opted to upgrade the pump to an XP unit, changed the 30 year old stock injectors out for 42# units with matching chip.
