The 1953 Skylark was created to mark Buick's 50th anniversary,[2] the Roadmaster Skylarkas atop-of-the-line, limited-production specialty convertibles introduced in 1953 by General Motors to promote its design leadership. The Skylark had aproductionrun of 1,690 units in 1953 with only a couple hundred still around. My plans for this carwas to build a mild resto-mod. The body is great it has been media blasted and The Skylark was media blasted and primed very solid body front to back. The floors have been replaced with floors from a 1953 Roadmaster. Same floor as a Skylark. The chrome is good on this car as well. I really wanted to keep this car, but I will not be able to finish so it has to go to someone who will make it great.
I was asked why do the rear wheel look off in the pictures. It is because the rear suspension is not fully attached. I assume this occurred when the body was removed from the frame and new floors added. When the body was put back on the frame it appears that the shop did not fully reattach the rear suspension and that is why it is slid forward in some pictures. This is not damage it is simply that the rear is not fully attached.
