1956 Buick Special
I bought this car a few years ago from an estate, worked on it a little, and stuffed it into the garage. It is currently up on a lift, with a non-runner below it. It has not been out too much, so I don’t have a lot of pictures of it.
As I bought it, someone had done a lot of work, and there is a very fat folder of receipts. It's painted top and bottom, done very nicely with no noticeable signs of rust or collision repair. The body and trunk are fully insulated for sound deadening. The interior still needs to be done, I have the seat frames. I had the dash repadded, but it still needs to be installed. The back glass is in but the new front windshield still needs to be installed.
The engine is the original Buick nailhead mated to a 3 speed manual transmission. The engine is beautiful to look at, leading one to think its been rebuilt. I had a mechanic work on it for a while. He never got it to purr, and he thought that there was some sludge inside the valve covers, leading him to think the engine was painted up, but not rebuilt. I cannot warranty the engine. It did run. Its been sitting. There is no interior, so best to ship this car as a non-runner.
There is a single exhaust underneath, and a set of feaux sidepipes. I have an Edmunds polished aluminum dual quad manifold with carbs that I was going to install on this car. The dual quad setup is NOT included with the auction, but can be available to the successful buyer for an additional $1500.
This is going to be one beautiful car. A real head-turner. Needs someone to sort through the engine and install interior.
I am not sure of mileage.
