1964 Buick Riviera Additional Info:
What you see is a restored 1964 Buick Riviera. Very, very nice car.The Buick has never had any rust and it never had any rust repair done or needing to be done.
We had the car around 30 years ago and a local friend here in Arizona decided he wanted to restore it so he took it to one of the premiere Buick restoration shops in the US where they specialize in high quality restorations of 50's and 60's Buicks. They consistently win the big awards at the Buick National with their Buick restorations.
The car was slowly worked on (and off) for several years and the engine was totally rebuilt, transmission, rear end, brakes, front end, and on and on was redone. The body work and paint alone was over $20.000 and that was more that 10-15 years ago, and the body was excellent to start with. All in all there has been probably over $60.000 spend on the car.
He did pick up the Buick every now and again ones it was driveable and he put between 500 and 1000 miles on the car.Since this is a 1964 Riviera and he wanted a clean 1965 look the headlights were firmly mounted behind the outer chrome grilles and a 1965 Riviera grill was added. It looks very clean and stylish. The chrome grilles do not open up like on a 1965 Riviera.
The Buick never got 100% finished mostly due to the owner developing different interest and we got the Riviera 6-7 years ago.As our restoration shop is always packed full or restoration projects we did not get to the Riviera until recently and the car is now finished and ready to pass on to the next owner.
This Buick is very, very nice but it will not take any first place trophies at the Buick Nationals. It will probably win many awards at local shows! It is built to drive and enjoy and still look stunning! The paint job is 10-15 years old, it looks great still. The interior is probably 10 years old but, the car has been stored indoors and not been used so it looks new still. The wood kit was replaced 10+ years ago and some of the pieces are slightly dry but, they are still very nice.
The engine runs great and it has barely been broken in after the total rebuild. Brakes, transmission etc are all excellent.Only 4 weeks ago we put a fresh set of www radial tires on the Riviera and the beautiful turbine hubcaps.
The car does not have A/C but it has P-windows that works great, P-seat that works great, tilt steering wheel and the original radio even work still and the Riviera also has the rare pop up rear seat armrest!
The car is at our restoration shop in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona where it can be seen and inspected. We have exported classic cars since 1986 so we do sell and export worldwide and we can often help arranging transport within the US also.
