1987 Buick Grand National Turbo T Additional Info:
You are looking at a very rare car. A 1987 Buick Turbo T WE4/WO2 exterior black out package. This car looks 98% like a Grand National, however, it is much harder to find. 1987 Grand National production was 20194 units while the Turbo T production for this one year only model was only 1547 units making it the rarest model Turbo Buick next to the GNX at 547 units. The Turbo T was also a lighter car than the Grand National thanks to lighter aluminum bumper braces along with other weight saving items and lighter aluminum wheels, although I swapped the T wheels for Grand National wheels some time ago. The WO2 black out package was only offered during the first few months of 87 production. The black out package was soon dropped due to Grand National owners making a fuss on how much the T looked like their cars. For the rest of the model year, all black Turbo T cars came with chrome bumpers and trim. Out of the 1547 Turbo Ts built, it is believed that less than 300 true black out cars like this were built before production of the black out cars stopped. For more information on the black out Turbo T Buicks, please look up online "Hemmings Muscle Machines" December 2006 issue for the full story.
I have owned this car for over 10 years. It spends most of it's time sitting in the garage. I only put a few thousand miles on it over the last 10 years. The car is in very good condition. The car is fully loaded with options, power everything, seats, windows, locks, trunk, antenna, air, tilt wheel, cruise, concert sound and T Tops including the original GM storage bags. When I bought the car 10 years ago, I was told there were some mods done including a shift kit, custom exhaust, boost is up, head work and cam work, some chrome on the engine, fuel pressure work and hotter spark. Again, this was all done before I bought the car so I can not say exactly what else may have been done. I have owned several stock Grand Nationals over time and this car runs and sounds very different than the stock ones that is for sure. This car sounds mean.
As I stated, the car is in very good condition although it could use a few things. The rubber bumper fillers need to be replaced due to cracking with age as all these cars have the same problem. I do not think the paint is original, although it looks good, it's not a show car finish. There are a few minor rust areas but nothing big. See the photos. The interior looks good however, the bottom of the front seats need to be recovered. The shifter handle is loose and comes off. OK, I think I covered everything. After having this car for 10+ years, I just do not have the time to enjoy the Buick anymore so it's time for a proud new owner. If you have any questions at all or, if you would like to come see and inspect the car for yourself before bidding, just let me know.
NOTE, it takes time and money to run an auction so serious bidders with good feedback only please. My feedback has always been 100% positive since I first joined ebay over 13 years ago which says alot. I tell it like it is. The reserve is more than fair for this car. If you have zero feedback or if you are new to ebay, please contact me first before you bid so I know you are a serious buyer. If you bid and win, you bought the car, period. Thank you for your interest.
