1969 Buick SportwagonInformation from my purchase of vehicle follows:
1969 Buick Sport WagonVIN 444569H285542It is a two seat wagon with large floor trunk. The two-way tailgate has a power window. Thefactory AC is still R-12 and functions ok. A new blower motor was installed in 2014. CustomAutosound retro look stereo with Ipod/Phone input. Dual speakers in dash and two 4x10speakers in the rear. The interior is original with the exception of the carpet, headliner, visors andextra insulation in the floor. Factory roof rack with air deflector. The roof glass is original and thelaminated tint is showing its age. All of the other windows have been tinted. I changed the paintcolor and scheme almost 11 years ago and it has had some touchups since then. The paint isnot perfect but, it is more than good for any cruise night.I have owned this car for over 12 years and I believe that I am the third owner. To the best of myknowledge, the car was sold new in Rutgers, NJ but, it has spent almost all of its life in Arizona soit is not rusty. After my kids quit driving it and moved on to college in 2012, I began rebuildingand modifying everything to tow a vintage trailer. After multiple trailer trips, it became obviousthat the original engine was very tired so a new engine, built to tow, was installed in November,2014This car is not a perfect show car and I am not representing it as such. Instead it is a solid carwith an awesome drive train that was built to drive on long road trips reliably and comfortably.Engine:Buick 350 with less than 3,500 miles on it and only 300 miles towing.Approx 8.75 to 1 compression ratioTA Performance 112 Cam advanced 4 degrees for increased low end powerTA Performance 350 Stage 1 intake manifoldTA Performance High Volume water pumpNew Flexplate and new balancerTop Street Performance HEI ignitionPoston cast aluminum valve coversQ-Jet carburetorDriveline:TH-350 transmission built to tow in 2012Hughes GM11 XTM towing convertor added in 2014Large auxiliary transmission coolerNew driveshaft custom built in 2014Misc:Alternator converted to internal regulator, GM 12SI 94 Amp4 Core aluminum radiator added in 20147 blade, heavy duty clutch fanNew steering box and PS pumpFront brakes converted to discFront and rear suspension rebuilt with polyurethane bushingsNew rear springs and rear air shocksCustom built Class III receiver hitch7 Pin trailer connector fully wired for trailer brakes, backup lights and trailer battery chargeUnder dash mount and wiring for Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller15” Buick rally wheels with 225-70x15 TA radials69 GS hood and air cleaner assembly69 GS grilleCustom halogen headlamps on relaysVarious spare interior and exterior trim parts go with the sale
Since I purchased the vehicle I upgraded the A/C, adjusted the front suspension and steering gear and had small leaks in the rear brakes repaired.Items that still need addressed are; needs new windshield washer pump, emergency brake handle and I would put on a V-Belt tensioner ( available through Summit on eBay for $17). The A/C belt is long and wobbles. I also ordered a FI-Tech Fuel injection unit (NOT INCLUDED). It is back ordered and not yet delivered.
Interior is good although the vinyl is worn through on passenger doors at top, approximately 1/4 inch and less by 9 inches. Vinyl covers on front pillars worn and some material missing. I will send close ups for those interested. Other minor problems as mentioned by previous seller.
One repaint as mentioned. I'd say a 15 footer. A wet sand, little touch up and tightening up the the chrome strips would do wonders.
Of course, one would want to know why I am selling. Being a car guy and needing to do something while I ate lunch I came across a magnificent car. It seemed too good to be true and the price was way to low for such a car. We'll, I conversed with the owner and became the new owner. It is a once in a lifetime buy. A car guy's dream come true. So, to pay for this car, I am selling the Sportwagon and soon, a 2015 Camaro Convertible. The car is very well equipped and has slightly less than 30,000 miles. I would like $16,500. That is a very good price, as is the Sportwagon.
Please ask questions.
I am happy to share more pics and aid in having it inspected.
